  1. I certainly won't be installing w11 on devices that are unsupported. ChromeOS Flex is certainly on my radar though.
  2. I'm literally in the midst of doing the exact same thing. What fire panels do you have? We have a mix of advance MX4's and MX5's My plan here is when the lockdown zone is tripped, there's a relay connected to the zone (Like the ones that release the doors) connected to one of these guys Moxa IoLogik E2200 which in turn triggers automations... Teams broadcast, SMS, netsupport message (via script), voip broadcast message, email etc etc etc. Pretty neat modbus over IP interface.
  3. haha don't worry, this is a more niche area and you'll certainly get more appropriate responses. the k12sysadmin sub is toxic AF and the mods are using it as a way to pump traffic to their ebook/podcast.
  4. He posted the same query on either /r/sysadmin or /r/k12sysadmin (Can't remember which one I saw it on). The formatting was easier to read
  5. 5406 at our core too. Last school had a 5412 as the core. Started putting 5406's at the edge, redundant PSUs, modules to suit the buildings needs, all for cheaper than a CX6300 too.
  6. I took over a school already with Cunninghams in place. I honestly cannot fault their customer service. Most things are dealt with then and there, when escalated it's very prompt. We've actually gone deeper into their ecosystem and I've got no complaints at all. Multiple tills, reval machine, ID store with MISlink and Paxton integrations. Recently have had the ParentPay integration setup. Everything works. We've opted to move away from finger prints and PIN codes to just on the ID card. I recently ran through a tabletop exercise with the team where we evaluated third parties systems (the solution, quality, support etc) and cunninghams came out at the top end of the list.
  7. We ditched RM this summer - Moved over to Impero for us. I'm quite impressed. It was a toss up between impero and NetSupport.
  8. What's wrong with Software centre?
  9. We've formatted our CC4 network and cancelled the contracts this summer
  10. It was happening sporadically when responding to a post
  11. Hi guys, Appear to be getting a lot of these cloudflare errors today (Screenshot attached).
  12. On prem filtering all the way - I would never consider a hosted solution again. Been there done that and it's not a good experience. Two Smoothwalls on site and it ticks every box.
  13. Last time I did macs against 365, JamfConnect all the way. Ticked every box and worked a dream. Only catch was at the time, the kerberos settings weren't available through the GUI, had to do it through the plist method
  14. I've set this up today. You'll need setup and working Active Directory Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) Entra Connect (Syncs the above) OneDrive ADMX templates imported into your PolicyDefinitions folder, these can be found on a PC with the proper OneDrive tool installed. Under machines configuration, admin templates, onedrive there's an option for silently sign in. Enable that, done
  15. Never trusted a software solution, even the erasers from the good old hirens boot disk. I prefer to buy a new set of cobalt tipped drill bits and spend an afternoon in DT every summer
  16. Assuming you've got your AD syncing to Google workspace then the passwords are the same so it's still easy Deploy the google drive app and configure it as an open at login item in the OS you should be golden (apart from users having to log into that seperatley). Otherwise you're going to want Jamf Pro/JamfConnect to turn the login screen into a googley one and be able to push out custom payloads to configure Google drive
  17. We use the sharepoint list/power automate method (Similar to E_G_R2 above) for certain daily bookable items (not it hardware). We've gone down the route of sending a confirmation Teams message to the user. We also use this for anything that's a designated resource in o365 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/blog/power-apps/office-template-book-a-room-now-available/ I am planning on rolling this out in september for bookable IT kit. https://snipe-it.readme.io/docs/requestable-assets
  18. What kind of room are you in? Prowise have released a 98" screen....
  19. We actually re-did our Ipads today. These iPads will not be taken off site. Accounts AD > Azure > Apple school Enrolled ipads into intune, shared mode profile setup etc. Pushed proxy settings through the proxy.pac file Published a link to the SSL login URL as a webclip app
  20. Extreme give away their trianing/certifications for free, which I think is worth doing even if you don't go with them. I've heard about schools worldwide using extreme and never much bad said, make what you will of that.
  21. I've used Smoothwall with Apple devices in the past and still do. You've got a bunch of options for authenticating users here. Ipads should redirect to a login page https://kb.smoothwall.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003986299-Smoothwall-Filter-Firewall-Authentication-Methods You're going to need a directory service to map your users against - take your pic https://kb.smoothwall.com/hc/en-us/articles/11657935583132-Smoothwall-Filter-Firewall-Directory-Services I'd look at Jamf Connect (or mosyles equivalent) for the macs to handle logging in and use that against your directory service of choice (Azure AD works well). https://www.jamf.com/products/jamf-connect/#macosedu_0
  22. PowerBi report embedded in a sharepoint site?
  23. We use ADaudit+ from Manage Engine, it can certainly do this and has come in clutch countless times
  24. Cancelled our CC4 renewal last week! SCCM in place, new OU's built, new GPOs built, 2 new DC's and a file server on standby, ready for the summer where it's time to re-image 1,000 workstations. Lets go!
