    That one.

    VOIP

I'd done everything correctly, however "SIP Protocol" was disabled in the firewall. Turned it on and now I can make and receive calls. It seems quite slow between dialling the number and either ended making ringing noises. Is that normal? It's about 3 seconds.

    VOIP

As far as I'm aware, that's what I've done. No joy though........ I believe it will, but it's very old kit now, we get issues with it occasionally meaning we have to reboot it to get it to work again, and Avaya filed for bankruptcy back in Feb. I believe they then came out of it OK after all, but it doesn't fill me with confidence in them!

    VOIP

I now have a FreePBX server running, and two Grandstream GXP1620/1625 (which incidentally don't stand very well whichever way around you attach the base) and can phone each other via IP address. I have never touched FreePBX or anything like it before. As far as I can tell, I've set two numbers up in FreePBX, but can't get those numbers assigned to the phones and am really struggling to find a straight forward guide on how to give a phone a phone number. I'm assuming this is all I need to be able to make internal phone calls? Any pointers or links to decent tutorials please?

From what I can see, the 1608sw-i will, mine is just the 1608-i which only does H323.

    VOIP

Had a Google and from what I can see, I can't connect my existing Avaya 1608-i handsets to it. I realise that whatever I replace my phone system with, that is the case but wondered if anyone could confirm this to be true. Was just hoping to have a play with a couple of internal calls.....
  8. I run all mine on ReFS and have never had any problems. 5 hosts each with around 3 VMs on.

We still are on 2 ISDN2 lines for our phones. Is it worth going to BETT to find VOIP providers? I am obviously aware of Google, Frameworks, people of EduGeek, etc., I just like talking to people face to face about things.
  10. I assume you can do it in GMail like others, but consider a limit to the number of recipients and whether they can email distribution groups or not.
  11. If you have the MAC address you could do a vendor lookup and see the manufacturer of the NIC. Might give some clues? Block the MAC in your DHCP server, then see who appears at your office door complaining their laptop doesn't seem to be connecting?
  12. Nothing funny with DST. My time is apparently 0.017 seconds out, which by my reckoning is less than 5. @jslate1980 - That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'll take a look tomorrow. Thank you.
  13. I'm trying to get off an onsite Exchange server up to O365. When I run the HCW, it gets to the point of validating my domain through a TXT file (which is there and it seems happy with), but then it says; The time (and timezone) is correct on the server. How do I check it against "our federation servers"? I can't find anything through Googling other than "This problem occurs if the system time of your local system and the system time of the server from which you're running the Hybrid Configuration wizard differ by five minutes or more." The local system and the server from which I'm running the HCW are the same system! Anyone got anything please? Stuart
  14. Does this mean; - There aren't any crocodiles swimming here - There are crocodiles swimming here so you shouldn't - Hey crocodiles, don't swim here.
  15. I've had that too, but they were really helpful on the phone.
  16. I just called the number on their contact page.
  17. I have just phoned Wonde. Apparently they are rolling this out and you only see the licence bit if the premium version is an option to you. If you don't see the licence section, you are on the free basic version.
  18. I don't have "Wonde License" in Settings. If I go in to "Manage Admins", I am the only one listed so I'd assume it should be me? To log in, I always click "Teacher". Should I be going somewhere else?
  19. Where do you see if you're basic or premium? I'm not aware we've received an invoice, but wanted to check the level we're on and can't see it.
  20. If I remember correctly, I filled out the contact form on their website explaining we're in the depths of the countryside with poor mobile signal and a strict 'no phones' policy which we impose on staff in front of the students too, so could it be done by IP instead. I got an email from someone there who basically asked what the IP was, and then a little while later I got another telling me it was whitelisted. Lovely! We are a single site with our own broadband connection so nice and simple to figure out where we are.
  21. It works here, and we even got them to whitelist our IP so we don't need to prove our location via GPS and apps and stuff. It doesn't get used much here though, they'd still rather ask me to allow Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. instead. NOPE!!
  22. We needed 3 PSU for redundancy in ours. I think it depends on how many modules you have.
  23. Stick a shortcut to the teams site in the login process?
  24. I appreciate this doesn't answer your question, but we've stopped installing the app. The web based one does everything we need it to, and it doesn't increase every user's profile by 500mb, and it doesn't need updating.
