There are 2/3 types of Aruba AP to my knowledge. Instant-On, Instant (IAP) and Campus. Unified can either be IAP or Campus depending on what you need where as some older Aruba are Campus only. Instant AP can give some useful info on it's own, yep it is not a single pane of glass like Unifi or similar SDN. I rolled out Ruckus jus over 10 years ago at a previous employment, that replaced an aging Aruba Install with 2 controllers, it was a good experience. I've also worked on HP MSM. And now working with Aruba again with 2000+ Aps with little drama in 7+ years, touches nearest wooden object.

Previous place we had an asset system. Once a year would go around and check rooms. All rooms had their own OU which made Group Policy printer deployment very easy.

If it is not been picked up by Windows OS install then I'd defo be looking to see if I can get a driver on a USB and see what happens.

I'm assuming this is old school FC rather than FCoE. IP as far as the actual storage connectivity does not play a part in FC or FCoE it is only relevant in iSCSI and NFS. My only dealings with FC were a few years back when I used to add new blades to HP C7000 chassis. when needed In that case we had multiple FlexFabrics on each chassis (multiple chassis), 2 SAN switches and the HP EVA SAN. We migrated to new SAN and used the old one purely for backup which I directly connected to the Veeam server with a single Fibre connection Back then I used to have to add the adapter of the server via its WWN. Can you see the WWN of the adapters on the SAN when you connect both in?

I have 2 at the moment. I have one SSID that uses MPSK on Aruba and a Radius server where I can specify the vlan for a client to be on via their mac address, there is a default rule that catches anything else and can put them on another vlan with less access if necessary. I'm slowly moving devices onto the one SSID that uses MPSK then will only have that and possibly a testing one which I can enable only when testing. I have an IoT network but I would not necessarily want guests on that, however all my smartphones/tablets are on it so they can easily get to Emby, etc. I don't get that many guests. Multiple firewall interfaces so keep everything separate.

Speed is less of a consideration. You go around a corner a) Safely considering traffic, weather and mechanical limits, b) been able to stop on your side of the road in the distance you can see to be clear (half that on a single track road) and C) staying within legal speed limits. The same stands for a car, but even more so on a bike is setting your self up for a corner and don't commit to a speed without considering the points above.

I'd consider a pfsense FW compared to a DMP. You can get something like a Netgate/pfsense for around the same price yep they are a little more complex than a DMP (there are tons of YouTube videos) and you won't have it all in the same the Unifi management Eco system but they do offer things that the DMP does not. Jus a suggestion to compare :-) You can also build yourself Pfsense if you have suitable hardware.

I'd try and ask teaching staff to ask the students to save the document when they initially start working on it. Then at the end of lesson the students just have to click save and at regular intervals through the lesson encourage them to click save as well. This might give you more time to deal with the issue instead a rush first save at the end of the lesson and find they can't Many years back we had a student in on the holidays who'd been working on a document for 3 hours without saving once. In this case we jus copied and pasted into a new document and then the student saved no problem.

I don't have access to a domain controller unfortunately to check. But I have seen the problem before but many years back. Don't get involved in Windows Domain Server stuff much these days.

Oops, shows there is a big difference between a car and a bike and could of been worse if a vehicle was coming the other way. I've come off in the wet on a motorbike by pulling the front brake too hard round a bend in the rain many years back but luckily it was a right hander and I stayed on my side of the road and was jus doing about 20MPH at the time. Jus picked my bike up and carried on riding to work.

That's a good one :-) . Even falling off at 30MPH can be painful, I've gone through a layer of thick clothing even at 10MPH, was only riding a 100cc Yamaha RXS100 in the 90's as I could back then with not any training till they changed the law, lol, and before I got more sense.

You can jus create an OU and delegate only the required permissions to an account to be able to create computer objects etc. It is documented somewhere. I've seen such an account that had domain admin compromised, it is jus another potential risk and bad practice. Limit points and remember to be able to only ride/drive so fast that you can still stop on your side of the road in the distance you can see, half that on a single track road. Remember that you are a lot more vulnerable on a bike than in a car. As @Andrew_C mentions, get involved with either a local IAM or RoSPA group and get some observation rides. Typically on a bike they might ask you to cover for their fuel but I've found in a car with RoSPA they don't as they are in your car. And get yourself a copy of roadcraft.

Agreed, use a specific user account with the correct permissions via a group. Should also use a specific non-domain admin account as the account to join the computers to the domain. Delegation can be set on a specific OU then MDT can be setup to use that specific account and deploy new domain joined computers into that specific OU. The less reliance on Domain Admin accounts to do routine tasks or run services the better.

Yes that is a good point. Might be worth setting the NTP server on the hypervisor to a reliable source too if possible :-)

No experience with Miraki assuming the ACL works top to bottom the below might be suitable Source Guest vLAN IP range - Allow ports udp 67-68 to the core switch IP for DHCP Source Guest vLAN IP range - Block all other internal destination IP ranges Source Guest vLAN IP range - Allow any to 0.0.0.0 ( Alternatively and would be better you could allow jus some basic ports for http, https, dns and some email ports to 0.0.0.0 ) that would cover most bases. Source Guest vLAN IP range - Block anything else (some switches have an implicit deny rule but if in doubt jus block anything and place at the bottom)

Unless I'm mistaken you cannot grab a screenshot of a drop down menu with snipping tool??? UPDATE: If you use the delay function it appears you can grab drop down menus, I'm sold :-)
