Glad it's not just me. We can do the silent installs but only if we log in via safari to macserver.local/mydevices. Which basically defeats the object

Do you know how to actually set this up or have a guide any where? We have IOS 7 and OSX server 3 but i can't get them to silently install i have to login to the server via safari then the apps will deploy :S

Hi I need to update a number of users on our moodle site. Normally i have been able to import a csv and choose the "update existing users only". But each time i import the csv it says that the user does not exist? I tried exporting the users filling in the missing field in the export and re-importing that but still comes up with the same issue. Anyone had a similar issue or any ideas? Thanks

Just wondering if anyone uses xenserver open source server virtualisation for production servers? We are looking at setting up a new vle and want to get to grips more with virtualisation and thought it might be an ideal way. Would you use it for a school production server (Moodle). Cheers

Hi I often do little repair jobs or website jobs for staff at our school outside of my job role (and outside of school hours). I wanted to come up with a company name but struggling for one. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I want it to reflect making IT simple and easy for them. I basically do any IT jobs fixing, designing websites or stationary etc. Anyone any ideas? I have tried googling synonyms and came up with UbiquITy or Lucid IT. What do you think to them or any better ideas? Cheers

Hi We currently have a D2D2T backup using backup exec 2010. The software is not great in my view. Are there any alternatives? What do you use? I like how Veeam merges the differential backups into one so when you look at a date you still get all the files showing even ones that were not edited on that day. Just seem to be endless problems with backup exec Cheers

Hi I work in a secondary school as an ICT technician and have been asked to speak at a meeting with some of our local primary schools about the computing curriculum. What it could mean to them? What they may need to prepare? Etc Any advice on what you have done in a primary school,what primary schools are doing, the major changes in curriculum? Basically any information on primary computing would be really useful. How do we end up with jobs like this Cheers

For the new Skydrive pro firs to all you have to be on the upgraded office 365, which I'm guessing you are as you have the blue bar but you also have to manually update your share point site in the share point settings to get the new create document stuff. Apparently not. That's what they said anyway. There is a NM I know but he is very good friends with one of our assistant deputy heads so I think if I asked him regardless of what he said it might get back to the school before I officially say anything to the head teacher.

Apparently our LEA don't hold standard Job Descriptions as they treat each one uniquely :S So there goes that idea. Any suggestions what else i could do to take it when i see the head just so i could say something like "I have been looking at what a network manager does and feel i do the same role here" Cheers

Hi Matty, So you would pop in to speak to the head or deputy and ask initially about whether there would be an opportunity of a Network Manager post available at the school and ask if you could submit a letter for their consideration? Would you take a letter with you or submit it after? Thanks, it's a point of view i hadn't thought of.

Finally getting time to write this down now. Currently drawing up a list of responsibilities and changes in my job role in the last 12 months. Along with the major achievements i have had since joining the school. Has anyone written a letter asking for a job title change? Especially if you would be willing to share it with me. Struggling to get a coherent start to the letter and get over my point. Thanks

Hi Guys, Bit of a longshot but we run an old examquest package (ExamQuest OCR GCSE Chemistry B) but recently the printing option has just greyed out and staff cannot print from it. In the print settings they show the printers fine but you just cannot print. Anyone ever experienced the same issue? Cheers

We use spiceworks for the helpdesk and inventory etc. We have created a custom group then when someone loans something we just move the device into that group and add the person as the owner of the device. It also records the date the owner was changed in the timeline so we know how long they have had it.

Does anyone know if there are any log files for airserver? Need to see if i can find out an ipad name that connected to a computer. Thanks

We have tested it with a beta of ios 7 and it seems to work well.

How would you do that? Has anyone gone through this and had access to the new skydrive pro? Just would like to test it before it goes live with all staff.

We are just in the pre upgrade phase for our office 365 install. I have a group of early upgrade users but when they access Skydrive Pro it doesn't look new. It looks like the same old sharepoint. Should it look like the link below Video: Add documents to SkyDrive Pro - Office.com or does it stay the same for us as we are just on the free school plan A2 for faculty? Thanks

Two other points now. 1. What's the best way to bulk update AD users to add their email and dept information etc? 2. When the user logs in with e email in AD it logs them in but asks for them to update their profile. Any way to stop this? Thanks
