So I have 30 ipads I had on Lightspeed MDM BUT Lightspeed is not ios 7 ready , so I decide to give Merak try. I have all the push stuff set up right and I added the profile with the apple configurator . I added the Tag cart 1 to the ipads in carts one and applied the profile . Only about 13 out of 30 picked up the Merak restrictions profile. They all have Merak MDM profile installed ( just not the MDM profile that has the restrictions ) . All in the Same cart made with the same image. They couldn't be more identical . Any ideas?

Hi all, I work at a K-8 school and we are using Meraki by Cisco as our Mobile Device Management solution. This seems to be working just fine but with the release of iOS 7 we are trying to figure out how to use all of the new features included pertaining to MDM. We have about 300 iPad 2s deployed. The teachers would love to be able to use free apps and, using Apple's VPP, paid apps. Right now we have to manually enter any redemption code into Meraki and then on each and every iPad log in using the Apple ID and password associated with the license purchased. I am aware, via several sources, that Apple now allows you to "silently" install apps. How can we do this? Anyone have any other tips to help in the deployment of the apps with the new iOS 7 features? Thanks,Colby

Hello All, I hope that someone is going to be able to help us! We are a school that has also embarked on the IOS craze! (not sure why). Basically we have purchased some iPad mini's and we need to lock them down. I have used Apple Configurator to do this but it is nowhere near enough to allow us to give them tot he kids in banks. I ahve disabled most of the apps ect but they can still get to most of the settings! The issue we have is that this mean that every 2 min we have someone bringing them to us saying "this isn't working" or " this has a custom background" or "this is called ****" I can come and visit if someone would be kind enough to show me their site/locked down iPad? Hi Guys, I work in a primary school, and we have just had in some iPad 2's. I've found a great bit of software called: Apple Configurator. It's great for supervision on the iPads, as ive been able to block a lot of features that can change things on them. But when i try get apps on all of them. I'm pretty puzzled. The method im doing now: - I'm connecting one of the iPads into itunes without the others being connected, and download the app i want to push out to all of them. (eventually)It syncs to the connected iPad... Fine. But now i have that app on the computer. I then plug all the ipads in to send that app out to them. But i need redemption codes? I dont know how to get these, and are they free? Can someone please explain to me how to this process at a more simpler level that works. Or just a way that works. And can you please explain what these redemption codes are. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope you can help. Thank you. -Kris

Hey Guys As I'm sure you're all aware iOS 7 came out yesterday. As usual Apple's Servers got overloaded and people where having 12-24 Hours wait while downloading it to their iDevice. Now personally I don't really care iOS 7 is just another spruced up version with a few more added features to make more people buy these IDevice's that seem to make my job a lot more difficult than it has to be although that is opinion! Now there was certain websites going around saying that iOS7 with a new version of Apple Configurator will allow all iPads to have apps transferred to them wirelessly from a central location on an internal network! Anyone know where to start with this? Is anyone playing about with this today? Please post your news here

Hi All, We are in the early stages of testing Airwatch MDM with iOS. Our devices (iPads) have been upgraded to iOS 7.0. This is the issue - we can't find a way to install free Apps silently, i.e without having to enter the central Apple ID password. Is this even possible? Help very gratefully received. Cheers!

I am having a problem with student iPad's being prompted for their icloud password, they can not cancel the request & they will not be given the iCloud password. This is a problem as we have 5-10 request per day without any common denominator, some are connected to wifi, some are not (which they have to be to clear it obviously) no common apps opened etc. it is quite frustrating & has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I have 3 technicians encountering this and unable to locate any common denominator. Does anyone have any ideas on the cause? Our iPads do use iCloud for find my iPhone only & as an extra security layer & students are restricted from accounts via restrictions & can not change or do anything with this. I have 2000+ iPads deployed to students. We do use apple configurator & airwatch, airwatch was not helpful in this regard as it's not their program causing the issue & apples support has never been much help.Things we have already tried, wifi on/off, auto join, ask to join networks.Does iCloud time out & REQUIRE information every so often? I have not seen this on any of our staff or personal devices & we have hundreds of iOS devices like this.Any input or ideas are greatly apprechiated, I love this site as it usually has the answers I need by just searching, but no luck this time.

Tell you what, this software is enough to drive you mad lol, if anyone can help with this issue i'd appreciate it, I've spent hours on it to no avail.... I have a class with 31 iPads, sync trolley, mac mini and Apple Configurator (AC). I've read some of the other posts on here from people mentioning iOS7 issues so the first thing I did was make sure the mac OS was up to date, iTunes updated, and AC 1.4 installed. Just to see how the process would work on a single iPad I plugged one in via usb and tried to refresh it, AC detected iOS7 was available and went through the process of downloading it but when it came to unpacking/installing it failed with an error of "MDKZipUtilitiesErrorDomain error 1" and that's as far as it's got. Some of the kids have already updated several of the iPads over the wireless by setting it off from Settings but I wanted to do them all at once with the trolley/mac. The only info I've found for the error online suggests the download might be blocked but I don't think that's the case as it looked like the file had downloaded and then failed at the next stage, and also for the fact the update works when doing it manually over the wireless. The annoying thing now is some of the apps have stopped working on the ones that have updated as they need the latest version supporting iOS7. I don't really want to create a backup of one that is updated and wipe/restore it to the rest. Has anyone else had this issue or any ideas to get round it? Cheers
