Office 365 - iPad Apps for Staff licensing.
tj2419 replied to Sam_Brown's topic in Licensing Questions
You would also loose the free ProPlus for your students as you have to have the active EES agreement to be eligible. -
Yes, thats what we did.

Hi I really want to set up ADFS with our office 365 install but we are still on server 2003. Could i set up a VM member server on 2012 purely for running the tools to enable ADFS with Office 365? Has anyone else done something similar or have it working on server 2003? Thanks

Can only get powerpoint in VPP :S
-
My thoughts exactly. Wish there was some way to enable it if you have an EES agreement or something.

Hi Does anyone know of a free piece of software to bulk create QR labels where we can add some text and a number to the side and then print them on avery labels. Would want to print a few hundred at a time. It is for our inventory. Want to try and avoid paying £200 per 1000 labels. Thanks

Hi We are currently comparing school asset manager and Parago. Both have strengths and weaknesses so struggling to make a decision. For people that use school asset manager. 1. How do you complete audits? Parago has a really nice feature on there app where you tick them off then get a report of any missing assets. As far as I can see SAM only gives you a list. 2. Do you like the location view? As far as I can see it's just the folder like view. For people that use Parago. 1. Do you hit the limit on the image upload? 500mb Thanks

Hi I was wondering if anyone uses the ILP block on moodle 2.#. We are playing around with the mango release but can't get it to do a couple of things and wondered if anyone else had any advice. I have also posted on moodle.org. We have been long users of the ILP block on our current moodle 1.9 install. We are testing moodle 2.6 with the aim of migrating over in just over a months time. As the mango release is quite different from the old 1.9 version we are struggling with a few options. If anyone could point us to some documentation or could answer any of the following questions that would be really useful. Can you create a summary page like you get on the old version? e.g. it shows the student name, student Info, Targets, Progress Reviews all on the one page? Can you move the tabs up a level. For example instead of having to click on archives to view the targets and progress reviews. Could we add a menu like Entries, Targets, Progress Reviews and Archives. What rules move targets into the archives tab? Is it possible to set them up to automatically archive after a certain date? Can you filter the targets with different tabs e.g. Achieved, To Be Achieved and withdrawn? I have looked at the documentation here but couldn't find the answers ILP block - MoodleDocs Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated. Tom

Hi We had that same issue today. Didn't seem too wide spread but no idea what caused it. We're also with Virgin. Let me know if you find out what caused it. -

Sorry to jump in on your thread but what would people recommend for shared drives for all teaching resources and student resources? about 1100 users in total on network but around 500 computers. Do the QNAP's play nicely with CC4?

Migrating from CC4 to Vanilla - advice required
tj2419 replied to tj2419's topic in Learning Network Manager
Just wondering what other people have done when moving from CC4 to Windows Vanilla. For the users. When recreating the users what was your process? Did you create the users on vanilla and then copy the files across? Give them new profiles? Cheers -
They look good but all over £200 probably asking a bit much for half decent bike for that much. I'll have a look at second hand. Is there anywhere for second hand you recommend or just like ebay?

Yes i am looking into this now as we have always used RM Event Master but that notifies our LEA support and not us. Just got a lot of devices to drag around the screen on the dude to clean it up a bit Would you say the Dude is the best free monitoring software available?

We are on server 2003 so cannot run RAMMap. We're a RM CC4 network so not sure on AppData. Is there a quick way for me to check? Cheers
-
Right some time has passed and made a little progress. We have a RM CC4 network with 3 DC's with our users spread across the three servers. The only users being affected by this slow down are all stored on server 3. I have also noticed in the server log that in the security event log it is constantly having security audit success and audit failures all day and night! Requests like every few seconds. What could be causing this? The other thing i have noticed is there are hundred of errors for RM printer credits in the event logs. We don't use RM printer credits. Has anyone come across this before? Any thoughts on whether this could be linked to the slow down? Thanks

Apple App Store and Downloading Apps
tj2419 replied to steveo2000's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi There is a similar thread here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/netbooks-pda-phones/131768-ipad-app-download-issue.html We had the same issue and our internet filter provider (LEA) said that apple had changed the server configuration or something so they had to alter their filter settings. Can't really expand on that sorry but it's definitely a change on your filter needed. -
We had the same issue and our ISP / filter provider said that Apple had changed how their servers were configured so they had to alter the filtering and it now works. Sorry haven't got more detail than that.

Can you choose to just send it to the app? Powers that be aren't too much of a fan of paying for the texts. Thanks
-
How does that work. Do they download an app? Is it free to send messages like that? Cheers

Hi, the plan is that our DT technician is going to cut me some plastic plates to glue over. As they are owned computers doesn't really matter. Lucky they aren't leased! Cheers Guys
