Hi I have my licenses but has anyone got a list of powershell commands they used to assign the license to the student users? I can't seem to get it to work :S been trying lots of different ways that i have seen in the O365 support forums. I have the accounts created and they have their student plan assigned but want to assign the student office license. Cheers

Sorry not monitors LCD screens for a RM Notebook 310. It's a standard 15.4 size but didn't know if the sockets might be different on them.

Hi Trying to get a spare screen for an RM 310 laptop. RM say they have discontinued the parts on their website despite the laptop only being 18 months old. Have my account manager looking into obtaining one for us. I was wondering if this was possibly linked to their stopping their own hardware? Has anyone else had issues getting spare parts from RM? Anyone know where we can get RM compatible LCD Screens? Cheers

All web based. There is a free version but not sure on all the limitations. Think it is just how much you can upload. Ignore that actually unless you don't mind paying for it. Free version only supports up to 30 devices.

Hi I am setting up moodle 2.5.2 and want to install a php accelerator to improve performance. I just don't know how you pick one and then how you install / configure it. Any help / how to guides would be great. I have been looking at xcache as it seems to have a version compatible with windows and 5.3.27 just don't really know how to configure it. The quickest way of deploying i found was to manually install the sever admin and invigilator parts then use pdq deploy to install the testplayer on 5 classrooms. Only thing i had to edit was the proxy to include http:// Has anyone managed to arrange a demo test over the phone? I rang up but got told you have to email. Cheers

Hi Does anyone have any documents that show how the responsibilities of certain areas such as esafety become the schools responsibility instead of the LEA after a conversion to academy status? Bascially anything that changes for ICT departments in school that we need to be aware of. I heard from someone that esafety becomes the schools rather than the LEA's but cannot find anything to back it up. Thanks

Hi Nick, Thanks for the reply. I think i have developed a bottle neck somewhere. It is temperamental but when i make or want to delete a booking in the booking system it takes anywhere between 10-30 seconds to change on the screen after clicking save or delete. Emails take between 1-10 minutes to send :S Any ideas? Thanks again.

Hi I am using HAP 9 and trying to set up the emailing feature for when bookings are made. 1. How long should it take for the emails to come through? 2. Should it be the username or full email address that should be entered in the room admin? 3. At the moment my bookie is getting a confirmation email but not the room admin, is there anywhere else this needs to be set other than the hapconfig.xml? 4. Should it email the room admin if you override a booking? Or is there a way to get it to do this? Thanks

So would i be right in thinking: VLAN 1 (Default) - use this for computers and school owned wifi. VLAN 2 (Guest) - Use this for guests coming into the school needing wifi VLAN 3 (BYOD) - Use this with students BYOD devices I have AP's going into a POE switch then uplink from this to core switch (Port 2). I have my zone director going into port 1 on the core switch. tag each of the AP ports on the POE 1,2,3 and the uplink from the POE and port 2 on my core switch 1,2,3. Also tag port 1 on the core switch (ZD) 1,2,3? I was thinking of using the open source smoothwall to act as DHCP on the Guest and BYOD VLANS. Two NIC's going into the core switch. When i create the VLANS is it just a case of create VLAN on the core switch and each of my POE switches? E.g. Create VLAN, give it an ID and a name (same on all the switches) Cheers

When i click on Access Control i have no entries at all. Is this where i may need to add something? Should it have a different VLAN ID to my standard SSID? Thanks

Think i'm having one of those days! Can't even get a basic guest ssid with guest pass to work. Goes ok accept the AUP and comes up saying you have been connected then i can't click continue Just need something where a student can bring a device in, someway of them authenticating be it AD (Limited year groups) or guest pass issued by a member of staff and then they are on for a predetermined set of time. Sounds easy .........

DHCP is being given out by our DC (Server 2008 R2) I'll have a look for the configs tomorrow. Not sure where they are First time messing around on the switches.

Trying to get my head around the vlan setup seems every time I try I just succeed in cutting off my poe switch. Any advice? I'm setting up two vlans ID 100 = curriculum, ID 110 = Guest. I have set the vlans up on the core switch and Poe switch. Tag the uplink at both ends (1 in core and 1 in Poe with ID's 100 an 110. And the port on the core switch where the zone director goes in as 100 and 110 and nothing else on the switches. Set my curriculum ssid to VLAN 100 in the advanced settings and set the guest ssid to 110. This just results in me loosing connection to the Poe until I move the uplink connection to a different port. They are all HP switches. Any ideas? Cheers

We can do VLAN's but never done them before. Currently looking into it. Basically our aim is that a guest can bring in a laptop or ipad and connect to our guest SSID, enter the passcode and they are on (the proxy is automatically configured). Would love if they could also authenticate via AD. We are using a council developed system but currently looking into alternatives. Saw this old forum http://www.edugeek.net/forums/wireless-networks/35147-ruckus-help-guest-access-internet-via-proxy.html saying the auto proxy was down as a feature request but could find anything to say it had been implemented. Hi Guys, In need of a bit of advice. We currently have a Ruckus wireless network and are wanting to start offering BYOD to 6th form. Is there a way to get the zonedirector to assign a specific range of IP's to BYOD devices? Our internet feed utilises an upstream proxy. Is WPAD the only way to configure automatic proxy settings on the devices? Any tips or advice from people who have set it up with Ruckus would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Anyone have any companies they have purchased lightspeed from? I had a quote but it worked out more expensive than smoothwall. The comments on here suggest they have had it for less than smoothwall? Cheers
