Hi Has anyone else found another solution for this problem? We are running windows 7 32bit. It only happens on one machine (an older one).

We had a look at aerohive but our internet connection is dodgy and i didn't like the risk that if our internet feed dies so does our wireless. We are looking at having a secondary controller for redundancy.

Hi We are currently investigating upgrading our wireless network, ditching an old 3com system and replacing with a Ruckus system. We would be looking at the Ruckus zonedirector 3000 and about 41 AP's. What i wanted to check was how good people thought the system is? How big is your ruckus install? How reliable is it? How many devices you have on it? Any problems you have had? Did you self install or get a third party to install? How would you compare it against the likes of meru? My main concern is that our LEA quoted circa £40k for a wireless network and Ruckus is a lot cheaper. Almost too cheap . Just wanted to check around and make sure that it is a reliable system as we use wireless a lot. Thanks

We are currently trailing moodle 2.3 with a view to upgrading. Testing blocks etc and producing some training docs for staff. I kind of understand what the document sys but its where you make the changes and what code you need to put in that I'm a little lost with. Cheers

Hi It has recently come to our attention that our moodle installation is not as secure as it could be. We have realised that XSS (Cross site scripting) can be run on our moodle install by typin code into the ilp text boxes and saving it. Detailed here on moodle.org What i need is to know what we can do to stop it. Anyone have any good advice or easy to follow instructions on how we can disable it? I also want to be able to restrict what file types the users can upload to moodle. Is there a way to just have a white list of accepted file types and block everything else? Thanks

Hi Is there a way in IIS 7 or moodle 1.9 to restrict the file types that can be uploaded within moodle? (Like on assignments). We want to lock moodle down so students can only upload particular file types to prevent any malicious files being uploaded. Thanks

We have a similar problem but on windows 7. Try turning off the collate pages in prjnter preferences when printing. This solves our problem but we cannot get that setting to save for all users. They are just changing it before they print. Cheers

Hi We have noticed that students are unable to run action queries in ms access 2010. I believe this is because the network drive (their my documents) is not a trusted location in the security settings. Now we have tried enabling this as students which seems to work but I was wondering how to do it for the whole school. We run a rm cc4 network and I have had a look in the registry policies in the rmmc but cannot see anything that would help. Anyone any ideas how to fix this on a cc4 network using the rm setup? I set it up using the link above for my fiancée. The first time I set it up on her iPhone it said couldn't varify but if you just hit try again it worked.

Hi If i change our moodle SQL database password in MySQL where would i need to change it in moodle? Or would i? Also the same question for PHP. We use phpmyadmin on a windows server 2008. Thanks

UPDATE Still happening. Day 1 (Tuesday) - went off about 9:30 Day 2 - went off about 11 Day 3 - went off about 12:30 Day 4 - went off about 17:00 Could this be someone trying to hack our moodle? It's just so random and nothing changes just before it happens. :S

Third day now. Same again. Got to about 12:30 and then moodle grinds to a halt a few hours later its fine. No backups running. No changes in software othe server. Down time is at different times in the day. E.g. Day 1 (Tuesday) - went off about 9:30 Day 2 - went off about 11 Day 3 - went off about 12:30 CPU usage is really high but can't see anything suspect in the task manager. I think the issue is more server based than moodle. We have disconnected network cables and it stays the same. Run it as local host off the network and still slow. Anyone any ideas? Thanks

Hi Good old frantic Help! We have been running moodle 1.9 of our own server Windows 2008 for a few years without too many issues. All of a sudden today it seemed to crash and now pages take minutes to load or don't load. It is running incredibly slow. I know it's a bit vague but any moodle experts have any ideas what could be causing it or what we could try? Nothing was changed prior to it going very slow. Cheers

Hi, I have tried: - Tourweaver but it watermarks avery 40 seconds. - Photosynth hosts the images that you can drag and drop but all on seperate pages. Ideally after something that will package it all up together and have links down the side to different areas. Maybe even be able to show a map or image with links on. Any one else know any good virtual tour packages that are free or cheap? @bossman did you manage to find anything or get your tour done? Thanks

Hi I have rolled out office 365 for all my staff to use as their school email. Since staff have come back we have noticed that it is running appallingly slow. Does anyone have any experience on how to speed it up? I believe it is our internet filter / firewall slowing it down as use at home is fine. We have two domains and it appears to be worse on one domain than the other. Actions so far: 1. Added host url to IE exceptions. 2. Added all the IP's and urls on this link to our web filter. Outlook Web App 3. Run the office 365 speed test but it doesn't really mean much to me :S 4. I have our LEA support looking at it but they came back to me today saying it looks fine but about 5 minutes to upload an attachment is not right especially when it runs a heck of a lot quicker externally. Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially if someone has had a similar issue. Many Thanks

Hello I have recently switched my school to office 365 for email mainly and that is working fine. Now i want to look at web apps and document storage. 1. I understand that skydrive is not part of office 365 and that you can currently use sharepoint to a similar vain. e.g. create documents, store them and share them. Does anyone know of a particularly good guide for setting this up for all users? 2. Skydrive Pro - Am i right in thinking that this is coming to Office 365? If so is there any indication when? And would this make the experience more similar to skydrive than sharepoint? 3. Is the Office 365 Preview going to replace / be an upgrade to the current Office 365 (e.g. A2 free education plan) Thanks Tom

Hi We have now switched Office 365 for our staff email provision using the free education licenses. Is it possible to link skydrive to the accounts for the staff? I cant see any links or find anything online. I think it would be really useful for staff. Also on our live@edu for the kids when we updated that to office 365 they have the option to create new office documents at the top. Is this available in the office 365 free education licensing? Hi It is pinging the outlook server and i have run flushdns and it hasn't worked :| Some shortcuts work e.g. off our website or in the start menu but the link on the intranet and typing in the mail.schoolname.sch.uk just freeze. Is there anything i could run on the server to clear the cache for URL's or something? Any other ideas please?

Typically my schools internet feed has just died Could this be run centrally to save me having to run it on all the computers affected? Cheers
