Is there a particular one you would recommend? I just want to make sure that if we are buying 18 switches that they will last us a decent time. How often do people normally replace switches? Do most schools use gigabit uplink or are most using 10g? We have fibre links to each of the cabs around school.

Is there anything else someone would recommend as a better option? Needs to be 48 ports and preferably HP.

Hi We have been quoted for some hp v1910-48g to replace all our switches in school, currently 3com 4400. Are these a good choice considering they came out in 2010? We want them to last us a long time. Priced at £330 each for about 18. Thanks

Hi I have recently gone into school IT support and we are looking at upgrading our switches in the school. Are there any general things should look for or is it basically just higest speed for what money we have to spend on it? Never purchased switches so its a bit of a new area for me. We currently use 3com 4400 switches and need something that support gigabit. Cheers

Hi We have successfully deployed windows 7 on our network now its just the little things i am trying to figure out. Does anyone know how to set it so all users have internet explorer pinned to the task bar? Also when the machines are logged out the square where you can have a picture is just blank. Is there a way to get all machines to display the same image in there? e.g. the school logo? Finally when a student or staff is logged in and the computer locks there is no box to enter a username (only lets you type in a password) so that an admin cannot come along and quickly log out a teacher. Is there a way to get the username box back? Thanks

Hi We have one of these in school and purchased it with the Abbey OCR software that comes bundled with it. The department have lost the software disc. Does anyone have an image of the disc i could get a copy of? Thanks Tom

Yes it was. For some reason running a health check on the program sets themselves seems to have fixed the issue. Must have kicked something through but we are looking good now. Thanks

Just tried reassigning the desktop agent and deleting it and reinstalling it no difference Any other ideas?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look at that today. What did you mean by unless you are using SP1 as that is the build template we have used. Windows 7 professional SP1.

No tried that and a couple of restarts :s Also have the 100 update already installed. Tried clearing the dns entries and setting some of the faulty stations to rebuild. We'll see how that goes.

Hi We are in the middle of rebuilding our cc4 network to windows 7. We have noticed that on some machines (Not all) that the program sets are not being delivered. It just shows up saying empty. If we log in as any user on that machine it doesn't work. But if that user logs in on another machine it can work. We have tried deleting the DNS entries and updating that. Refreshing system packages. Any ideas what could be causing it? Thanks

Hi I deleted some workstations that we have changed the names on in active directory instead on through the rmmc. Because some had priviledged users they now just reappear at main site but it won't let me remove the priviledged users as the machine doesn't exist in active directory. Any ideas? Thanks

Awesome Will there be a guide to install from scratch (e.g. without having a previous version). I have been trying to install v7.10 but the video guide looks like it assumes you have a previous version installed. Could just be me, been a long day
