Mine took 24 hours to populate the localadmin details this week.

Had similar after I failed to stop various services that link into SIMS, groupcall, parentpay, etc etc, seemed to kill the SIMS workstation on the server, renamed the SIMS.net folder, then reinstalled via update and sorted it.

Used LanSchool for many years and had no issues, the licences are cheap and the product set expands with the times too. We still use the on site version which is superb and when I finally get some time I will roll out into the cloud version. Its worth trialing Lanschool in my view.

We opted for the laptops (managed but used admin rights to tweek) seem good enough, been in an out like the okey cokey and holding up well.

We have the same issue, a few years ago BT wanted 15k to get a fibre to the school, and they still show as no availability in the near future, and we are in a city!

When leicester was in Lockdown, well still is sort of, I lived out of the zone but still went to work at our school in the lockdown zone, this was allowed in the rules apparently.

I used a webcam and VLC Player to stream, some chicken eggs hatching to the school, would work for any broadcast I guess? All you need is to set up the VLC Player broadcast stream and any VLC Player client in school can view it. Another bit of software is OBS, this is normally used by dj,s for streaming into social media or online radio stations, dead simple to use etc

Sorry, might have sounded a daft question but once spent ages trying to recover a drive that I did not know was encrypted, and weirdly Recuvva recovered files, but these were pre-encryption.

Is the profile encrypted?

Try logging with a different user account, that worked for me, then i restarted the server and it was fine.

Ruckus has been an excellent investment in our school, had no problems with the system and it just does its stuff perfectly.

The only time this happens to me is when a new user logs in, they have to open IE first and that then sets the proxy for the other browsers, its random thing so does not affect every user and is more frequent in W10, probably due the proxy gpo not kicking.

We had to expand our SL1100 system and we had to a buy a box with an expansion card in (it looks just like the SL1100 unit.) I dont think it was very expensive.

Sometimes Antivirus will block it, it used to happen to me but had to use an allow rule in the AV system.

I think some have been provided with wireless routers, judging by the twitter feeds on this subject, not sure how they acquired them etc

Ours is still locked down by them, just given enough rights to add some software etc

I was trained and used to terminate fibre as part of one of my previous jobs many moons ago, but dont have the proper stuff to do it now I would say the only way to get good at it is with proper training and doing hundreds of ends, in varied locations and conditions. The most important thing is having the right equipment, buying cheap stuff will hinder the process. A good scope is key and the experience to know when an needs to be cut and re-terminated, sometimes you can polish forever and its not going to work. It was an interesting part of my career, terminated fibres in many locations, in a manhole in the middle of a private schools rugby pitch, inside prisons, in places i cant speak about due to security requirements. All good fun, sometimes lol

This happened to us but deleting the files in the Smart Notebook in My Docs, solved this
