Did you enable the service? (or role/feature whatever you want to call it) Steve

Unless it's just your formatting on forum, is that two different ' `'s on the HOST-SRV? (Before looking into it more ) Steve

What exactly do you have set? I just tested it and works fine here Using runas: system Highest Priv Configure for: Server 2019 Program: powershell Arguments: -File "C:\test\StartVM.ps1" (which just has Start-VM -Name VMNAME in it) Obviously it may just be your user account if you're setting it to a specific user, do they have HyperV admin rights set? Steve

I’d just dump the msi method for python and use a BAT/PS script (unless you have something like SCCM to do exe packages?) Then you can use the standard install switches for python pythoninstaller.exe /quiet InstallAllUsers=1 PrependPath=1 Include_test=0 Include_pip=1 Etc Steve

I'd totally disagree with you there dmj. You're talking about a completely different purpose to what 99.9% of schools need. That isn't being behind or small business, it's working to what you need. (The same reason MS created the InTune for Edu option, as not all schools would even have IT teams) Even as an example deploying a HyperV VM via powershell compared to manual. Yes it makes sense for 1000 web-server VMs being rolled out that are identical for different customers etc, but doing 5/10 VMs with different specs/roles, it's just complicating things for the sake of it and will always take longer to write and setup the "right way" compared to doing a one-off task every few years. (In jest I refer everyone back to https://xkcd.com/1205/ ! ) Steve

That's breaking Veeams T&C, you can't install two copies under the free option. "Sharing of the Source Infrastructure between different Community Edition and Free Licenses is prohibited. This includes using multiple Community Edition deployments, or using both paid licenses and Community Edition deployments, to protect different parts of the same Source Infrastructure." Steve

As above, are you sure inbound 80/443 is enabled rather than just outbound? Also if you have any kind of SSL inspection on is this disabled for the incoming IPs? Steve

O365 Hybrid setup for multiple domain hosted under a single tenancy

AD Connect wouldn’t work AD Cloud Sync will So just be careful which version you install Steve -
Edu one has less options for an “easier management that even teachers can do” Go Endpoint unless you’re really only after a basic setup Steve

[ms office - 2016] Duplex Printing slightly out of alignment from Word.
Steve21 replied to Koldov's topic in Office Software
I take it you realise your example document isn't actually aligned when you flip it? (Even without printing, unless it's just showing that way in your screenshot) As you have it off-centre (I just coloured inside the box to explain what flip I did, but you can see it's one square off each time so the purple lines don't ever touch the object Unless you have an actual demo file I could see to test it on a printer here? Steve -
Looks like you're using an ancient script Looks like the Admin SDK has been the replacement since 2015 https://developers-google-com.translate.goog/apps-script/migration/domain?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp Steve

Or is she the only one listening to the sign that says the road they’re walking on is closed!? Steve -
What you do is slowly shrink the resolution of items over time. That 4k image from years ago, is only only 1080p etc Massive storage savings, without any real noticeable impact, even if users do access it years down the line. We have both image and video shrinking setup that I run once a year for anything over a certain age. That way it doesn't remove them, but it saves lots! Win win Steve

Use V3 connectors instead of V2 if you want it from powerapps@ Or using V2 use a shared mailbox under advanced options (From (Send As)) Assuming it hasn't changed recently Steve
-
You can’t change it as such You create a new job, and in the job settings you can map it to the old backup location/files Similar to if you were mapping a normal job to a new storage location etc Steve
-
They’ll carry on but won’t have the per VM split/new items etc If you want to update it you need to make a new job but then map it to the old backup so it’ll upgrade it Steve

Have you tried a crossover cable? Just wondering if it’s an old system that might not support auto mdi/mdx uplink? (E.g. it requires a manual pair 2/3 swap) Whereas when plugging your laptop in if it’s newer it might automatically switch it on its side to match as most new cards do Steve

That’s one of the urls windows uses to check for internet access so yep nothing wrong with that If it’s specifically at boot time it’s likely to be updates of some kind, are you managing all updates for windows/apps/edge/chrome etc? Sounds like one of the auto upgrade services is running without it being cached, so for example of every machine updates edge at once and you don’t have any delivery optimisation on Steve

There isn’t any ban for most places, the only one actually discussed now is sensitive government sites only And it’s not just hikvision for sensitive locations, that’d include Uni view as it’s Chinese brand too Steve

Seems like they missed the boat a bit on it if i'm honest First issue "Starting in Windows 11 SE" Why isn't it available in all versions, considering SE is only on the new cloud-based laptops that are really one-to-one designed "As the end users enter their username, they'll be redirected to the identity provider sign-in page" - So the user still needs to know and type their whole login in the first place, which is half the battle for younger students/emails It's a shame that they haven't just created a QR login option themselves that works direct from login screen (and doesn't require any manual typing etc) Steve

Redstor - Backup Error "Cloud Files Are Not Supported"
Steve21 replied to Swaleway_Techie's topic in Cloud Services
Are you using Azure files? The built in tiering will automatically set files that aren’t recently used to cloud only (effectively the server version of OneDrive) Steve -
Veeam backup - Daily backups - best practice?
Steve21 replied to maxrebo's topic in Enterprise Software
1 per VM here too, many benefits of that method for only a slight loss of dedup/compression. Can schedule different times/restore points/frequency etc. Allows easier migration/off-siting if smaller too. Less likely to corrupt a whole chain. Can run a full on a single VM easier if required (e.g. before an inplace upgrade) Steve -
It'll probably be overkill for just that purpose, as it's more a full VLE style addon for sharepoint, but one of the ones I know a few schools use is https://www.clouddesignbox.co.uk/ Steve

[ms office - o365] Missing team Sites from Office - Save As
Steve21 replied to 2097's topic in Office Software
When you click on the main sharepoint site as you call it it should bring up a list of frequently used sites, but it doesn’t show the whole lot normally (unless you’re talking in the web based versions under the “more places” Steve
