  1. With the ban of Hikvision cameras looming (including rebranded), what brand do you use that is similar to Hikvision in term of pricing & quality?I have tested UNV (Uniview) brand and it's not as good as Hikvision. So what else are out there? Thanks
  2. Did another factory reset today, and it worked this time. So, I guess, like gtg93 said, it does take time for it to be updated. Thanks for the replies, everyone.
  3. Thanks, yes, 100% correct serial number and in School Manager, it showed me the date of release which was yesterday. However when I did a factory reset and tried again, it still shows that it's managed... :/
  4. Hi all, Bit of a puzzle, this one and I'm hoping you can advise me! iPad Air 2 was added by Apple to our DEP a few years ago and is managed by our Apple School Manager. And it shows up on our Apple's Profile Manager. (in-house) We now want to make this as a stand alone iPad. I have removed it from Apple School Manager and also removed it from Profile Manager. Then I did a factory reset the iPad, but when going through the steps, it still want me to connect to WiFi and for it to be activated by our org. How do I get rid of this bit? I thought removing it from Apple School Manager and Profile Manager would do this, but it hasn't. Or did I miss a step? Thanks,
  5. Hi all, Hoping someone could help with this issue... Recently, we changed our password requirements on the Windows side (AD) to be more stronger and encouraging the uses of Passphrases (i.e. 3 words and chars) Once the user has changed it to the new & stronger passphrases, they can log on to a Windows PC with no issue. But when they sign in to an Mac (AD enabled, goes via Open Directory), they are being prompted to change their password. Question: Why and what caused it? I inherited the Mac setup by a previous staff so I don't have access to very much documentation. Is there a setting somewhere where I can make this changes so it can/accept the use of the longer passphrases via Open Directory? Our Mac setup - using Profile manager with Open Directory for login. Thanks all.
  6. Yes, editing large projects over network is not good. What we have done was to have 2nd partition called 'Data' and let the students copy the files from NAS to this, and edit from there. Once done, they copy the project back to the NAS box. We have warning on the wallpaper to remind them to backup all the time as the data on the LOCAL drive will be wiped. So far, no issue.
  7. Do you have Profile Manager? If so, set the wallpaper path from there.
  8. Veyon does look good, thanks! Will be giving it a try. Cheers.
  9. Is there any decent screen sharing software where the software is installed on a tutor PC in a classroom, load it up and "mirror" the screen to all students PC within the classroom. I've tried a few software but all of them go via the Internet, which is something we don't want as there is a noticeable 'lag' and a security risk. Would prefer for it to be internally. I've looked at LanSchool and while it's perfect, it's out of their budget, sadly. Is there a similar tool that can do it. Bonus if it's cheap or freeware! Thanks,
  10. Has anyone used OpenLM to manage different licensing platforms and how well does it work for you? Any pros/cons? Thanks.
  11. Thank you, I will check out MRBS and also Booked.
  12. Great idea, but would not work for us. The equipment booking is required by the Creative Arts team and they're located in different building. And we can't give them access to the library system due to Data Protection (we manage many academies). It need to be a stand alone solution, either by a software or web based. Thanks for the suggestion, tho.
  13. Hi all, A member of staff need some sort of Hardware/Devices Booking System (digital camera, tablets, etc) as she has given up with paper based. I've looked at WUBS - https://sourceforge.net/projects/wubs/ - but it seems to be a little bit out of date and it has not been updated since 2013 so a bit of a concern with bugs. What do you use for this purpose?
  14. Sorry, forgot to update this post - it turns out to be an issue with the installer from the CD - I downloaded the latest patch from their website, installed & rebooted. It worked fine this time. Hope this helps to others with the same issue.
  15. We've got this same piece of software too, and like you I am seeing the same error message. Did you ever resolve this, and if so, what did you do to resolve it, assuming you did? Thanks.
