I use GUI, it does increase the footprint and attack vector but it's faster for me than using PS. If I invested the time to set myself up with PS scripts for common tasks I would consider dropping the GUI but who's got the time for that right?

We use Veeam to backup our VMs to a NAS in a second building which then copies to a NAS in a third building. Our sims server uses a cloud backup service offered by our LA.

If you want a configurable start menu then Classic Start Menu is a good shout. We have a start menu that's built on login based on user type and installed software.

Not been with them long but so far its been top notch. It was the easiest broadband experience I've been through, everything happened when it was supposed to, we were kept well informed of progress and everyone turned up on site when scheduled (even the BT guys which was astounding given previous incompetent form). Connection has been rock solid so far.

I have a domain admin account and a normal user account. I run as the normal account and the admin account is only used to elevate privileges when needed.

Starting this afternoon, if I search Google in Chrome or Firefox I get the results from google.gr - IE and Edge return from google.co.uk If I check my IP then it knows it from the UK but if I check the browser geolocation then again is thinks I am in Greece. This is site wide. Ideas?

That error can be related to proxy or IIS permissions. What does your PatchDownloader.log say? Any errors?

I just kinda told everyone it was happening and got on with it... Of course it depends on the culture of the school (some SLTs seem to want to know every tiny detail of what's going) but it would be considered a bit odd if I took that to the SLT.
