  1. Yes it is and it is our SIMS server ...
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. That would have definitely been easier to do it that way but we are no space to spare
  3. We run VSphere 6 and are about to attempt it. Never done it before and last time it was done (before my time) we had to do a baremetal recover the virtual server. Can anybody please give us some advise such what to look out for ... or even "dont do it !!" These are the instructions we found : http://https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/12938/HOW-TO-Shrink-a-VMware-Virtual-Machine-Disk-VMDK-in-15-minutes.html
  4. Can anyone recommend a company in Leicester or near by area that can provide AV solutions for the college hall? It is a Dining Hall but it also used frequently for large meetings and revision sessions. We already have a system in place but the system is rubbish, not fit for purpose or user-friendly. The installation by the previous company (CDEC) was so poor that the speakers have already stopped working after less than 2 years.
  5. This is very helpful. Sorry i have put this on the side for some time as other projects needed my attention. Am I right to understand that LINE 21 disables Exchange, Sharepoint, etc and then on LINE 26 it re-enables it? Just want to make sure i get this right ...
  6. SLT do not want to get involved
  7. yes it is a good piece of kit but we have a programme where we decommission pcs that have reached the end of their 5 year warranty. We are replacing everything with dell and this is the last HP in the entire building!
  8. Hi, So we have this desktop (HP 8300) which needs replacing but the teacher who uses it is very reluctant to part with it. I was wondering if there is any of causing the pc to slow down or appear to be corrupted so we can finally swap it out!! We have set the antivirus to set off every hour but the pc still annoyingly works fine ... It needs to be something discreet like a startup script or something that we can run in the background.
  9. Brilliant one Sagima! .. I didn't think of that one. That worked great !!! Thanks ...
  10. Yep ... even reinstalled it and upgraded it to the latest one from the intel website
  11. Hi, We have recently purchased some new Dell Desktops Dell optiplex 3040s which work brilliantly with most things. However i have recently tried to install the software for an HP Printer cm2320nf connected by usb (full solution) to one of them and i keep getting "USB driver, USB Hardware" error (see picture). At the moment the printer works if i install just the driver but not the scanner. We have windows 7 installed on the desktops and it previously worked fine on our old desktops which had the same version of windows. The soaftware should install regrdless of whether a printer is connected or not which is why i believe it is something to do with the desktop. I have tried another Dell 3040 and same result. Tried on an optiplex 7010 and the soaftware installed fine. I have also checked the system requirements and they seem to be fine too. Any ideas or alternatives to get around this?
  12. Oh thanks for all your responses. However with 1200 + kids i doubt we would be able to do this manually. I think someone mentioned using power shell scripts to get around this? Are any reliable sources where i can find those scripts? Thank you
  13. Thank you. How are the licenses assigned to the students? Is that something that Microsoft does or we have to do on our side?
  14. We currently use office 365 for all our staff but our school is now thinking of signing up for student licenses as well. Once we sign up for Office 365 student licenses what do the technicians need to do in order in for our students to be able to start downloading their copy of office 365? Any advice would be appreciated.
