@owen1978 Where are you getting that from? I can see the roadmap that says that previous generation of the UTM hardware are going EOL next year but no announcement for the current generation of UTM hardware. They appear to be still very much supported. https://community.sophos.com/kb/hu-hu/121502

Yeah I think the pricing is good. In our price band (based on NOR) for a 3 year site licence (with a 4th year thrown in for free) its worked out at £16.41 per board per year.

You can use up to version 10 11.4 for free. Subsequent versions require a licence that you renew annually and gives you the right to use the latest version. As stated when you buy a board it comes with a years licence. You can buy individual licenses or get a site licence (depending on which makes more financial sense) We have just bought a 3 year site license and up until the end I march they are throwing in a free year! Edit: don't use the Smart website licence cost calculator (or random number generator as I call it) to see how much it costs you. Talk to a reseller.

We have used smoothwall for years but renewal was way too much, support is hit and miss and promised reporting improvements have not materialised yet. Am moving to Sophos UTM next week and although I can't comment yet on our experience, the demo was good and the feedback I pulled in was all good. Plus the price was a lot more sensible.

That's the fella. Once installed you will see an update to take it to version 1610 (to get to latest version SCCM works with a base version then updates to that base, if you see what I mean). SCCM is awesome, try it out but don't be overwhelmed Licencing depends on how you setup your agreement. Client CALs are in the desktop pack. Servers need to be licenced separately. Rather than separate version with big upgrades, SCCM has moved to the SaaS model, so you need to be looking at SCCM Current Branch. You can run an instance of SQL for SCCM as part of the licencing (but only for use with SCCM). Interesting. Glad it worked for you. However I imagine that if documents were suddenly updated between the inspectors looking at the website and then coming in, it might look suspicious. I just think that schools should be confident that all that is in order all the time, not at the last minute.
