A lot of servers, after the initial start up / BIOS / POST checks they do go silent, the new Gen 8 HPs I've used after start up are silent in operation as well

I found it impossible to get one :'( so had to move to the Nokia Lumia 920 as when its on its side its onscreen keyboard is the same size buttons as the keyboard that was on my HTC Pro7 phone (and the Touch Pro before that) very sad times that on-screen is the way everyone is going unless you want a blueberry.

Agree with that, If you are very much a MS house and running MS Apps such as Exchange, Lync, DHCP, DNS, IIS, RRAS, ISA/TMG etc... then SCOM is the tool for you. You can add bits for other OS's to it and do SNMP with it as well but for the true power MS apps work well with it. You can set e-mail alerts on it for things, text or IM depending on how you set it up so its very powerful and flexible. However it is very "shouty" it picks up any little niggle and tells you about it so may take months of tuning to get it to be giving you the information you need. I have been working on it for months now on and off and still find it logs a lot of stuff that is momentary blips of WAN links but it creates about 4 or 5 alerts for a small WAN drop taking a lot of time to go round and check all is well....

I used one the other week to get a card for my sister, they seem to have modded a normal card payment only machine to spit out cards as well so was happy with that

Late to the party but my 50p's worth, the RAC were brilliant when I had a motoring incident, I have nearly the top package and they recovered me from the motorway leaving London to Bristol and took my car back to Yorkshire for me and had a hire car for me to drive home. All sorted no fuss or mess I was very pleased with the service from them it was no hassle or stress with them so well worth it and I bought through Qudico so got half my membership fee back through them

Unsure but my Sky unlimited has been fine, good speeds and seems to not cause any issue for me so far. No static IP though which is an ass really But the Sky router which you have to use does have options to add in DynDNS details so you can fudge your way around it a bit if needed not idea but can be done.

In my last place I had a custom built PC which had a nice Antec case (not a top end I will add just one for a few HDDs and front connectors), 2nd gen mid range i5, 16Gb Ram, 120GB SSD and a 1TB storage SATA drive, mid-range dual output VGA card for driving the 2 screens I had and a simple Coolermaster PSU. Cost about £500 in parts at the time so nothing outrageous and given I ran many VMs for testing and checking things it was certainly good value compared to a brand new HP of the same sort of spec. Before that I had a refurbished HP Pro Workstation from ICT Direct which did me nearly 3 years of good service
