We had a student having issues with our refurbished parts of the building and being unwell and when I left they were still discussing it as they were thinking it was the new T5 lighting fitted in it that was the issue.

Probably past its best or faulty or the server is just too big for the umph of the UPS. A lot of people swap the Server but forget to check the UPS is big enough.

Yup very much what I experienced as well which is what you want and need with things like this For anyone that has stayed in a Travelodge you will have come across NRS without even realising it I know @robk and myself were enjoying winding up the staff at the one from BETT that we could probably get through it and make food free

Adobe Acrobat was good at that don't know if the Free PDF software is as good but in Acrobat you could say take these files and put them together in this order and voilla Worked well for our needs. A quick google says PDF Creator can do it - http://www.sas.upenn.edu/computing/node/1203 and PDF Creator is free

Would be worth checking firmwares are up to date on the SAN? As for who would use a SAN they are very good tools for use in any business or school for Virtualisation and in some cases the SAN does more than just iSCSI so in my place our SAN did NFS, iSCSI, SMB, FTP and others out of the box and thus was an NFS store for the Citrix XenServer farms VMs which gave redundancy in that VMs could move hosts no issues, and the home areas were all directly off it via the SMB meaning no middleware between the SAN and the end user to slow things down and it works reasonably well just had its moments of crap software and poor support in the end but that is well discussed here. The idea however was excellent and I'd do it all over again just with EMC storage this time

As this thread shows well worth getting NRS in as well. In my experience for the same thing they were a good bit cheaper and better software IMHO.

We had HP Printers and most gave toner statuses via the JetDirect card in them to Spiceworks so the SNMP was setup correctly and Spiceworks kept an eye on that and jobs a goodun Spiceworks would email an alert to say it was at level X (level we defined)

I would think NRS could do that for you they do a range of ID options for primary schools they can do a screen with the pics of the kiddies on for staff to just press that I have seen they also do Mifar proximity cards which could be easier or they may even do barcode reader option give them a call they are very helpful

At least it wasn't Charmain, or India or Tyler etc..... (queue Katie Hopkins moment!)

Its well documented on here that when you install and first run it needs to be run as an Administrator and that solves the issue. If you have a search you might find something to fix it. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/1357-prodesktop-install-2.html#post24504 is an example.

Would agree with that, we had a similar issue for a while with North Yorkshire any school that had opted out of the provide mail onto local mailservers were struggling with emails to each other as some internal routing was changed and made a mess. Once they cleared it up all was good and fine

Grrr posted a reply and it just went to a blank page Anyway having some issues using the site such as reply with quote sits spinning like the above, refresh and it may work and sometimes I post a reply and boom just a white page That is FF 24.0

Had the site hang when posting, took me a couple of goes to Reply with Quote on some posts before it springs into life.
