Do you need to keep student mail for 5 years? Staff I could maybe understand but student is unusual I would say. An in-house Exchange server will be significantly cheaper with those numbers for the users needs, cheap NAS for the Archive box using the achiving and retention policy in exchange job done.

You could have some script running or another group policy somewhere that is refering to the old locations. Dig through the GPOs to check and also ensure that the Home Path and Profile Path in AD are set right.

What DNS is your DHCP Scope issuing? It should be just issuing the IP of that server which from what you have said above is doing everything. Clients should only have your internal DNS Server on them and that DNS Server has the Forwarders for the ISP.

I fail to see the issue? They won't let you use it to authorise a payment but don't say they won't contact you on it to confirm it is you etc... or have they now called you with the security code to that number which is then a fail?

I had mine setup like that and it worked fine?! At the time a bug in Impero meant you had to make an AD Group for the teacher PC in each room but once you did that you give the rights to that group (that group being only the teachers machine) and set its rights and off you went. You then made groups in Impero obviously and set all the PCs in that room in that group and away you went. So teacher logged into the PC in the room they saw that room, if I logged onto that PC in the room I got the entire LAN as I had higher level rights it worked well. We also had a bug with it using the groups and password combination which caused issues but that has, I think, been fixed assuming you are on the latest version of the product. @russdev will be able to confirm what release that was fixed in

When you say other people are fine on the machine she suffers on are they using existing roaming profiles or a new one? Maybe worth trying a new one you can just rename someones roaming profile directory and test and then delete and rename the old one back and they go back to how they were. If another "new" user doesn't have this issue then it must be something that is applying to that user that is doing it anything upstream like a proxy server that authenticates users?

Very strange then if she has no profile and the issue follows her its either something broken in the default profile or on the machine she is using first time that is creating the profile or you have a Group Policy that is upsetting the apple cart.

You don't want a Lenovo Helix, it is shocking! I have had my paws on one with @Ric_ and @Domino and we were quite excited by it (well I was even if they were not), it was a decent spec with SSD, lots of ram, decent CPU so not even the entry model Helix and after half an hour I hated it, it was sluggish, slow to respond and had a poor build quality to the dock / keyboard. The tablet build seemed ok but for £1K+ its too much and not worth the money. I had a play with a Samsung at BETT back in February and I would by far rather have that than the Helix.

Sounds like either some GPO or Profile is still hitting this user that is creating the issue you are having. Not meaning to sounds like teaching you to suck eggs here but when you reset her profile how did you do that? Did you go to the server and rename the entire folder that her roaming profile made and then restarted her PC and that should give her a new one?

You need to have a DNS zone for schoolname.org and have an enty for mail.schoolname.org in that pointing to the internal IP of your server.
