  1. The app but it's working now.
  2. I'm trying to set Teams to allow sharing of the teacher desktop but try as I might I can only get Teams to share apps even after setting DfE_Staff_Meeting_Policy to allow screen sharing. I must be overlooking something but what? Update: Looks like I needed to leave it longer as it's working now.
  3. I know it's possible but what I'm looking for is if dinner staff could have a 365 account but not have a domain logon so avoiding being counted as FTE so saving the school money. I've asked our reseller the same question but get pointed to this document. https://www.licensingschool.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Academic-Licensing-v15.405.pdf I've also asked the reseller about the new 'Knowledge Worker’ definition and was told knowledge worker is only for ESS and not OVS-ES who are still using FTE.
  4. Is it allowed to give them a 365 account but no domain login so they can use email at home?
  5. Sorry to bring up an old thread but it's just the information I'm looking for as our MS renewal is due soon. Previously when calculating FTE I only counted staff that actively use a computer as part of their work and never really counted TAs apart from the HLTAs but all that looks set to change. Further to this I've been asked to make domain and 365 logons for cleaners so that they can be emailed instead of handing them a printed sheet. Would this count as FTE or the new KW when it starts? We are a primary with 500 NOR and at the last FTE count it was 34.
  6. I started reading this thread at the start and bits here and there but just read the last two pages and if I understand correctly it appears that schools need to supply filtering if the school loans a computer to a student which is very hard if the school is a primary with limited resources. We had 8 laptops from the DfE from the first round and I think there is another 5 coming but we have a stack of old staff laptops that are sitting around and the HT wants to loan them out to students if year groups isolate.
  7. I looked at this 4 years ago I was quoted £500 per screen. Some schools will see the cost and decide to go with Promethean screens as it works out cheaper. Others will turn a blind eye to the EULA and go with third party screens and still use Inspire. We went with Promethean and have been very happy with them.
  8. Currently using Sophos SSL VPN where staff need to manually logon the Sophos client each time they need to connect to VPN. Sophos have a IPSec connect client that connects automatically at user logon so would save staff having to manually connect and I was wondering if it’s worth changing over to the connect client. When I heard about the connect client I was hoping the connection would be made at machine startup to enable software deployment or GP policies to apply but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Edit: found this which give an overview. https://www.avanet.com/en/kb/sophos-connect-client-vs-ssl-vpn-client-what-s-the-difference
  9. Looks interesting, thanks. I’ll be looking at that next week when I’m back in. Currently schools closed for half term.
  10. Slightly OT but still relevant. Using mandatory profiles, how would I stop the agreement message appearing each time a user opens google? Is there a GP setting I can use to agree on their behalf?
  11. WTF! So I'm in 365 admin portal and see the company who setup the teams remote learning has already given the HT global admin status without enabling 2FA and without telling me. I'm lost for words.
  12. Thanks everyone.
  13. Staff have been using Teams for a while now and we are ready to roll it out to our primary students. As I work 3 days the HT wants admin access to 365 to manage Teams and add new pupils when I am not in. I don't have a problem with that as he is very competent IT wise. I'm a 365 global admin and when I logon to the admin portal I use a separate account that has 2FA enabled. My everyday 365 account is a standard user but still has 2FA. Last year I started a trial of 2FA with the HT and office staff but not having any P1 licenses it didn't go down too well and was told to disable it so now I'm the only one with 2FA on their account which brings me back to the question of the HT having admin status. As I don't like the sound of the HT having admin access on a non 2FA protected account can I now insist on enabling 2FA on his account or perhaps making a new 2FA enabled admin account just for the HT to use when I'm not in?
  14. Thanks for the update.
  15. Does DNS hosting come as standard with web hosting or is it a chargeable add-on?
  16. Thanks both. I tried both ways but either the folders can still be dropped into another students folder or the student could not save in their folder. I'll come back to this next week as I'm not here tomorrow and got loads on today.
  17. The student file server is running 2012r2 and I would like to lock permissions to stop folders being moved into another folder. This is a primary and the younger years all logon as a class using the same logon. Shares are mapped as N: and root is the class folder. Inside the students folder there is a folder for each student and it's these folders I want to lock as the younger students have poor mouse control. At the moment the permissions on the class folder is set to full control for staff and students of that class. I would like to keep full control for staff and limit just the students. \\server\userdocs$\class1\students\studentA \\server\userdocs$\class1\students\studentB \\server\userdocs$\class1\students\studentC \\server\userdocs$\class2\students\studentA \\server\userdocs$\class2\students\studentB \\server\userdocs$\class2\students\studentC etc. Any help appreciated.

    Logoff Button

Thanks. Shame I didn't know about it before I imaged the school

I never heard of OpenShell until this thread but been using Classic Shell for years without problems and as it happens just finished re-imaging the school to 1909 again with Classic Shell. Could I ask what improvements OpenShell offers over Classic Shell and is it worth changing if I'm not having problems? To be honest I was half expecting Classic Shell not to work when I upgraded to 1909 but all was well with no problems at all
  20. First of all I rolled back the VM then downloaded the language pack ISO 'SW_DVD9_NTRL_Win_10_1903_64Bit_MultiLang_FOD_1_X22-01658.ISO' and copied the gb packs to a folder. In the VM I added the language pack using DISM using this command The language packs I added were all the gb ones. I don't know if I needed all or just some but added them all anyway. In the VM I set the language correctly, ran sysprep and captured the image again. Deployed using MDT and it works as it should.
  21. I've made a new image that does not have flash installed but I'm getting warnings when I start Activeinspire saying that flash cannot be found. There is an option not to display the warning next time but I think it would be better if the warning didn't show in the first place. Is there a setting or registry change that would disable the warning?
  22. Yes you were correct and it appears to catch a lot of us out when building new images.
  23. I'm testing a new image I made using Win 10 1909 and deployed with MDT. After adding to the domain and logging on with a student account I get a UAC prompt about adding optional features. I do not get this when logging on as admin. Why am I getting this and how would I fix it please? The image was made on a VM and testing on a VM.
  24. We use these http://www.ess.limited
  25. Version 3.12.0 is out, has anyone tried deploying it?
