The office manager has been dealing with the data controller and the only contact I've had with him was on inset day when I sat and listened to his speech.

We use an independent data controller and at no time have they asked me about backup retention or what data we send to third parties. Dread to think what an audit would say about us.

Thanks all. I'm going to recommend a combination of two ideas - we have the generic office@ so will export the heads calendar and import it into the office@ account. That way staff will not need to alter their settings if or when the head changes.

We had in house Exchange when I started and HT shared his calendar with staff. Since then we have moved to 365. All of the day to day activities are in the calendar Now HT is retiring and the new HT wants to continue with the calendar but at some point the old HT’s 365 account will go so the calendar will need moving. Is it possible to move a 365 calendar and is it best to use a ‘public’ calendar? New HT uses the Outlook app and writes the calendar on the staff room board each day so would need something compatible that he could use on his phone.

For us this update is only affecting Lenovo Thickpads probably, because of the wifi issue. We also have a few Dells that are on wifi but not had time to test those yet. https://windowsreport.com/kb4493464-bugs/

Starting rolling out April’s updates only to find machines unable to logon. Turns out updated machines have a 169.x.x.x address so cannot access the domain but setting a static address the machine connects ok. Removing KB4493464 restores normal service and luckily only 7 machines got updated before I noticed the problem.

@Sonic3 was this a fresh install of 1809 or upgraded to 1809? If upgraded what was the original version?

We had the laptop testing too which I complained about and the HT was brought in but the PAT testers just kept repeating it was policy to test them. Anyway, the following year the PAT testers were caught on CCTV just sticking labels on things without even a visual check. Needless to say they never returned.

I found a PAT test label on a unpowered USB hub.

Slightly OT but last September my local academy had an open evening for this years year 7 so the wife, daughter and myself went along to have a look and every projector was held on by zip ties.

Do you still sell stands or feet to make the server free standing?

Just checked and the bios version I have is 2.29 but see on the HP site the latest is 2.32 released June 2018.

Sorry not sure of the speed but i5 with 6 or 8 MB + SSD. We got them from ICT Direct 2 years ago plus we bought a handful from the recycle company that takes our unwanted kit. I've never got WOL working even after updating the NIC drivers but it would be great if it worked. Teachers very happy with them.

We have this model in most classrooms but I’ve never tried changing the bios however, there is a bios update to I think 1.45 which may help.

Sorry @TwistedHelixis I was looking for a tool that would import into a folder based on photo taken date like win7 used to do. I’m on holiday this week and purposely left my laptop at home so unable to test anything but thanks anyway.

Might do, will have to test with different options.

Looked at the EXIFTool last night but it’s unclear how to just extract date taken from the image so imported using win7 instead. While searching for answers I came across this https://github.com/drewnoakes/metadata-extractor-dotnet/blob/master/README.md which may help to build my own program although it’s been 10 years since I did any proper programming.

Thanks @Arthur I'll take a look. I've got an old win7 laptop knocking around so I could import using that then copy the folder structure across to my laptop but it's a lot of messing about for what seems a simple take but I'll look at EXIFTool first.

Hi, At home I'm running win10 home and having trouble importing photos so I thought I'll ask here. So with win 7 I could have photos on a memory stick or sd card which I imported using explorer and this imported fine making a folder for each different taken date. So if I had taken 3 photos on different days say 1/3/2018, 2/3/2018 and 3/3/2018 and imported, explorer would make 3 folders in pictures each with the different date. Now with win10 I can't see that option but the photo app can import and at first it looked like it worked showing the photos in the correct date on the timeline but on looking in the pictures folder the app is storing the photos in a folder of the import date. So to summarize, how do I import photos and have them stored in a folder named after the taken date?

On the clients look at the update history. When was the last successful update? I get the odd client dropping out but never more than one at a time so I would be looking at the server.

It has now been reimaged but before that a direct cable connection didn't work either.

I've tried all of the above but no joy. @Sonic007 the DHCP client won't start and reports error 5: access is denied. I've googled the error and tried resetting permissions on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dhcp and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TcpIp as well as adding system and networkservice to C:\Windows\System32\dnsapi.dll so might be best to just reimage the machine.
