For a LAC device, the damage would be reported to the Social worker, and they may be able to bid for repairs/etc or agree a budget for repairs to be completed by the school... (sometimes easier because of VAT), or just get a new one next PEP round.... as in PEP's/Chins are yearly and will ask teachers for the impact of anything bought, so you just say "They broke it... need another, with a better case etc." We had a child who alternately every year got a laptop or an iPad....

Special school - If we buy something from Pupil Premium (which many of our Children get because of FSM) the item reverts to the school after use. Pupil Premium itself can also be pooled to buy things like Education city which not only benefit the child in question but many other children. If a child receives PP and leaves the next school will receive the same amount in the next budget year unless circumstances have changed. If the item is bought via LAC money (usually bid for during a PEP or a CHIN) we are happy to supply and set it up. If for school use our licenses go on and such, but as the device belongs to a child it is wiped and handed back when child leaves. If for home use only, an appropriate license purchased or 365 put on but then access is revoked when leaves.... if possible still taken in and wiped. iPad is a whole different ball game with apps and such... but again wiped before leaving the premises.

Thank you-- it took me forever to find that setting. particularly as it is behind the admin password. Got really annoyed with the sharp service guy as he insisted it was not a Time thing!! Looks like we had a network loop that somehow only knocked a few things out--one of which was this model of printer.!

We are building newer laptops with 21H2 and we are having issues with Wi-Fi. We are getting connected, not secured on power on and this carries on through to log on (currently preventing cloud drive mapper from working). I was initially tempted to say this is 21H2, But some older machines have been affected (1809, 1909). Also, not everything on the site is affected so I don't think it's our broadband... Has anyone else recently come accross this, and is there a solution? its really messing up working from home for people.

Just to say the Kent Schools one also includes a working party on the replacement Finance system-- so no-one will get stuck with paying for just FMS from ESS either. So the long term purchasing process makes sense.

Yep nothing on our message trace - Kent as well Have asked the relevant people to keep an eye out.

As part of our rolling replacement programme, we are looking at replacing our older clevertouch dual boards. They are rather large and heavy, so i am not sure WEEE disposal will take them. Also, they still work and have HDMI connections so I would like them to be of use. We are based in Kent and would be replacing the first 2 at Easter, with more hopefully in the Summer, but we would be unable to store them for long. Would anyone be interested in these?

AV Installers Recommendations - Kent
Scifigirl replied to mslaterdws's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
We use AV Parts Master -- we are in Kent. No complaints they are excellent. We use them for both supply and install (BenQ screens here too) - let me know if you want our account manager's name! -
We have used a site called Reyooz-- not for benching specifically but for some desks and that.. https://www.reyooz.com/

thank you-- i was a dummy and putting it in the Apple customer number-- forgot to change it to Reseller-- Yes we got a notification from ASM saying XMA was the reseller.
-
little bump--- does anyone have this - the reseller number in the thread doesnt work
-
Hi we fixed it. despite all the documentation to the contrary - we had to change the win 10 bootable disk to GPT instead of MBR thank you all anyway.
-
update - tried a few more things, - bios says its there but does not include it on the list of boot devices. When click on UEFI- add device, it says no file system found-- its like it cant see the drive after rebooting. we have swapped out the drive and the cmos battery, but all we can think is its something in the BIOS
-
Pulling our hair out here so any help much appreciated. We cannot get these to boot in UEFI mode. It goes through the process of installing windows (too quickly if you ask me), but then says no bootable device on restart. Any ideas? tried secure mode, non secure mode, updating bios, all sorts of settings in bios but no joy

If you have Clicker in any form you may be able to get resources from Learning Grids. There is also loads of bits on the nat geo kids site https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/?s=ancient+greece&post_type= and probably a few others - depending on your students age.

Heard from Jigsaw 24 education iPads on a 6-8 week lead time--- might not hold your breath!

I'm hoping that KCC are getting all this, their deal with SIMs was up a couple of years ago and had limited renewal for 2 years so they could do a proper tender process (up April 2022 now). Not heard anything but some schools have to sign up to 3rd party support by the end of Dec, and are now up a creek.

We bought something like this: http://https://www.gear4music.com/Home-Audio/Omnitronic-EM-260B-6-Channel-Line-Mixer-Black/3O61 we have 4 mics, a laptop and an in rack CD player. Mic and laptop are through the stereo inputs. works pretty simply. in Kent, if you want more info... Can DM you our simple guide if you like. Ours was originally put in by https://staceymusic.co.uk/ who also gave us advice when we had to replace it.
