  1. Same ISP. The only option given so far is the fibre line. Both contracts end in March and we were doing our usual round of checking out other suppliers, we don't want to get into another contract for these suppliers - probably - unless really best value.
  2. We are taking on a new site about a mile away from us and we need to route traffic between the two, does anyone have the same setup? How do you do it? Kinda been left in the lurch by our current supplier, who want a lot of money to lay fibre between us, which is not necessary. Any ideas/help appreciated!
  3. counter intuitive and probably a silly idea, but one of those roll down maps but put up backwards. or just laminate pieces of A3 paper and get them to use them - but warn them that they can't blu-tack it to the board, or press down on it too hard, as it will ruin the sensitivity of the board (Sorry if i come across sarcastic but .... really, and i have just been forced to be social with strangers for an hour- i don't mean to take it out on you......)
  4. https://www.kelsi.org.uk/child-protection-and-safeguarding/e-safety in the acceptable use policies document. This is the one used by KCC
  5. we buy Ben q's from AV parts master- 65" is usually around £1500 - and they come with a fixed mount so no extra costs except install
  6. special school- so not quite PRU WJEC Entry Pathways IT stuff Functional Skills IT

  10. @mhaddock I understand where you are coming from, and paper based systems are always great as well as homebrew. We have just been asked to look at what everyone else is using as our current system doesn't seem to do or be as flexible as the person using it wants it to be. We have been asked to look for a RIDDOR compliant system, so im am just getting ideas to pass on.
  11. @Brimstone All of our iPads have gone into DEP. Our problem is we had a different deployment method previously (for the last 4 years), and so have iPads out there that cannot auto enroll as data is required from communication apps etc. For some of our looked after students, they own the iPad and it will leave with them, but we also need to show how money is spent on specific apps for them- so im thinking normal apple id with jamf installed as a self enroll for them. Teachers need to be able to make purchases etc . Basically only school owned iPads that are designated to students or specific classes will be in ASM -- i think. I think the rest might have to be handled differently, and then enrolled into Jamf.
  12. Hi All, Do any of you use online accident book software? if you are happy to do so, could you name the system you use? Mods feel free to move this if its' not in the right place. Thank you all
  13. A real newbie im afraid - does it only sync the data? or does it try to enroll the iPads- thats what i need to know- sorry. We have a very tricky (i think, I may be wrong) set of iPads that will belong to children who take their iPads when they leave and need apple ids attached to them so that funds can be allocated and tracked - i was going to enroll these separately. Trying to decide on a naming convention that we can track for students as we dont want to use names! I was hoping i could use managed IDs for teacher iPads - but im reading conflicting information re these.
  14. Hi, We are moving to Apple school manager and Jamf from our other MDM. We have had the training, and anything but one thing was not explained - if we tick the box to sync all our devices (apple school manager) to Jamf will it try and "over write" all the current devices profiles, and data? Might seem a silly question but we would like to stage the deployment so we can weed out any weird ones. Any help much appreciated.
  15. We have some Unifi 55 compatible projector bulbs that we would like to get rid of. As said these are compatible not originals. We have 2 that are unopened and unused and one that was used for a few hours but, then the projector decided to die (DLP error) so no fault of the bulb. Open to reasonable offers. Locatd in Sittingbourne, Kent
  16. We have the same issue with the symbols, make sure none of the symbols go over the black frame onto the board area too.
  17. probably obvious, but turn off tablet mode???
  18. usual caveat- hope this is in the right place We are looking at online alternatives to SIMS, and were wondering what everyone else use. Specifically PSCN schools but feel free to let us know what you use. We cover 3-19 age ranges. Indication of costs, support experiences, etc would be helpful. Thanks all in advance!!
  19. @Primus We are a large Special School (4-16, 250+ Students 150+ Staff). We have heard good things about Watchguard, which is why we asked about them. We will check out Smoothwall too - thanks for the info!
  20. Hi All, Hope this is the right place to put this. We are currently looking at our options, our Broadband subscription is coming to an end, and the LA provided service is a bit clunky and expensive. Has anyone here moved away from the LA service and are using: WatchGuard or Sophus, etc? Just looking for some advice about possible pitfalls, advice on possible replacement filtering and firewalls, etc. Any help much appreciated!
  21. Hi, Sorry to resurrect, but we are looking at using Trilby TV with firesticks. Did anyone have to get anything unblocked? Thanks
  22. Just read- The two of swords trilogy - KJ Parker who is really Tom Holt.... not too bad Gearing up for the new set of Harry Dresden short stories on the 7th June by reminding myself how good they are.
  23. We have a few of the older (6 years) Clevertouch screens, however the remotes are starting to get broken. I have spoken to Sahara who say that none of the current remotes will work with our boards. Does any one have any of these hidden away?
  24. if you use the MDM to remove the passcode doesn't that get rid of GA allow you back in? I know you cannot use GA without a passcode set. It does here but we use lightspeed.
