not a 1:1 deployment, 90% sure students don't "log in" to apps - but teachers seem to staff require iPads for assessment purposes-- and need to log into the app separately - so apple account not required except for very specific things-- i.e. garage band previous employment, student stuff worked well with no log ins.. they were used for "learning games" rather than apps such as email, word etc. thinking of seperating the estate down to teacher and pupil ipads and then figuring out teaching and learning aims---- but i have to have the conversation first i think./

Well 3 weeks into the new job and time to shake it up...... mods feel free to move if not in the correct place! Currently trying to get my brain around the iPad deployment option chosen at the school ( SMT all seem new to, so unsure what decisions were made in the past) 6th upwards gen iPads all on shared iPads with federated accounts: is there actually a good reason to do this? i cant get my head around it and am at a loss, especially with the memory usage etc. Federated accounts would not let them do what they need anyway i think. Before i go to SMT wanting to revamp the lot to no accounts etc (except for those that need garage band etc) can anyone give me a good reason for this? thanks for any responses (no one to one deployment, special school, etc)

Or does it raise the issue of having a qualified DSL on the IT staff.and paid to manage that... Just to pass stuff on. 90% of the hits we get for students are sites that will be accessible to staff anyway. Netsupport is pretty good at taking screenshots, unless they are really really quick.

Anyone else had some weird issues with spiceworks? we are missing about 15 logged calls this week already and from what I can see its the email redirection to the cloud that's not being picked up

Hi All, random request and hoping someone can help. Someone was removed from one of our distribution groups and has just worked this out. I have been asked to look and see if there are audit logs to see who removed them from the group. I am doing an export of the whole audit log for 6 months, but I am unsure what I am looking for. From my understanding with us admins as the only owners, only we are able to do this. any help of advice would be much appreciated

we have a spread sheet that converts the card read by the scanner for sharp printers and papercut and converts it to NET 2-- happy to send a copy if any help we use mifare classic cards, .

Yeah but then-- you might actually get to the bottom of the problem because erm *very much my own opinion, and based on my own interactions* most kids below 13 know exactly what they are doing, and can tell you the actual problem, enjoy telling you exactly what they did ...... and *REALLY my own opinion, especially for primary age* accept if its their mistake and will learn from it. very unlike adults. And again, I might be really lucky in my job, but I have the patience of a saint with kids because they are learning, and will make mistakes... adults on the other hand....... sorry off topic...

Having a look at that sign in modes article, looks like we have been using homelearning codes all the time, so my solution probably isn't helpful. we stopped using it in school as our iPads were too old for the updated app, and SMT wanted to ensure and track when it was being used for home learning.

Thats how we have got around it - we used the text codes previously (SEN setting, no password remembering) then started getting issues.... so we have issued all students with their own QR code-- seemed to stop all the issues. The 2fa was a bit on the sneakier side... hope this helps

This is true for now-- the focus group to look at alternatives starts in January I believe....

From what i remember RM networks do not have UAC so you have to log on as an administrator to do things - although he can delegate roles out to you depending on whats needed

Check the site level access..... that will usually be set to read for all users, then you have to exclude libraries

Sorry for possibly going off-topic, but how? Everyone i have spoken to says it requires extra licensing or 3rd party software?
