  2. https://www.classcraft.com/blog/classroom-noise-level-monitors/ theres some online ones if you have a camera/mike attached to the whiteboard... or this kind of thing.....https://www.tts-group.co.uk/classroom-sound-meter/1015332.html is out there-- dependant on age or students....
  3. not really a get to know you- more of a here are your people. We are very careful that photos seem professional, not to include any personal details.
  4. Thank you everyone - yeah the ID photos are always taken as a quick photo on day of appointment. I always do request though - if submitting their own photo, its a bit like a passport - face on, no filters, plain or empty background, not cropped from another pic, etc.
  5. Special school with multiple satellite sites-- they may have seen them but may not. I know this is so subtle its probably a DPO question, but we aren't sure who is our DPO at the moment-- its in transition, and yes offered a opt out (which is something) but we want to get it right.
  6. full names and photos of teachers and Teaching assistants that will be in class
  7. We are a special school and yearly we do printed transition books to send home with the students to help them know which staff they will be with in September. It has been raised that we do not require an explicit yes permission as this is covered under Public interest number 16 - that we can use opt out rather that opt in for this specific instance the query is-- is this correct? At my other places of work, everything has been opt in rather that out, so it feels a bit "off" to be hanging the permissions off this. Thank you in advance.
  8. From what i remember - custom days work on their own and wipe any other permissions you have on those doors. So you can't have "normal" working hours at the same time as a custom day. We were advised this by a 3rd party support company when we couldn't make it work.
  9. Have inherited Hive. Currently having issues with Edge nodes and jobs not printing when they are off--structure is we have an MPLS so print jobs are being "held" on edge nodes at other sites. These sites, being the environmentally friendly folks they are turn off their class PCs when they leave. Issue is people at other sites are still printing and can't release their jobs if the edge node (Class PC) holding the job is off. Before we bite the bullet and go back to MF, has anyone got their print traffic to stay on local nodes, or be sent directly for the cloud so that we don't have this issue?
  10. yes all deployed-- i just can't seem to unblock the library - the boxes show, but the actual maps and challenges wont download.
  11. Yep all in exceptions.... trying to see traffic in WatchGuard is a bit of a nightmare - i can only see what policy is blocked which doesn't help me.
  12. Hi, we use a WatchGuard filtering system and i am having issues unblocking the Minecraft Edu Library. I have put in exceptions for the domains it listed, but i still cant download or see the library games, any idea what i need to unblock? Help much appreciated- now pulling hair out after 2 hours
  13. Trying not to poke a hole - then why have a laptop?!? A consistently docked laptop is a waste of money and resources, a PC costs less and is a better investment.
  14. Just as an FYI-- a lot of office based staff might refuse laptops on the reasoning that the want work/life balance. had a few of those. there should be no penalty for this....... point might be made.
  15. ours works out about £70 a year cheaper with just FMS - but we are hosted by ESS.
  16. our only issue is it is using machines all over the estate to hold print jobs. If that machine gets turned off between sending the job and release/collection, it usually won't print as the data is now on a machine thats off. Can cause issues with people "losing jobs"
  17. Yes still struggling, i think we need an smtp relay but am unsure how to set one up with 365.
  18. Solution ended up just putting in a bypass for google... hopefully it will stand up
  19. if you have the ADMX records you may have set up the restricted option for staff.
  20. already had udp blocked on 443 have now blocked on 80 but still cant make it work. the sites work fine if you go to their direct address, but you can't "google" anything in the search engines
  21. Can't find any way of doing this? WatchGuard are now saying that all clients need to authenticate? using iPads with no apple accounts or sign on.
  22. anyone have any ideas?
  23. Hi, Our iPads use a transparent proxy and are not logged into, as expected with January things have gone wrong. We seem to have some issues with hsts inspection for google, (google not allowed but full address is) anyone have any idea how to fix? thanks in advance
