VGA is just our standard used connection throughout the school so just simpler for the users to understand. I even get the issue on a directly connected loose VGA cable sometimes, but it's all too random to put my finger on it. I may well contact support soon, but unless there is some firmware fix I don't think it's going to help a great deal.

I still get problems even when I use a loose standard length 2m VGA cable and connect to the laptop. I have tried adding a video splitter but it made no difference.

Has anyone experienced any random VGA issues on Smart E70 interactive touchscreens. Issues include wrong resolutions detected and no picture or distorted flickering image that don't settle. We have 6 in one particular building and all of them have experienced problems at some stage. 2 with fixed Imac's are better but not perfect. I've tried the usual VGA cable swap outs and different laptops to try and isolate the issue but the only common factor is the E70??. HDMI does work but that wouldn't be the best solution for us.

Does anyone have any experience of knowing if moisture can cause random issues on VGA cables or devices connected to them? We have a new build and you can smell the damp around the place, although that's all I've noticed and not all of the time. There are at least 6 rooms all with Smart E70 interactive screens in them. 2 of the rooms have fixed Imacs and the other 4 have open ended VGA cables for teachers to connect their laptops into. I have one particular model of laptop (Dell E5540) that seems to be quite sensitive to the problem so I'm using this as a test although various other random reports are coming in from people with different model laptops as well who have random problems in these rooms. With the Dell laptop, it will work fine in the room with the Imac if I disconnect for a moment, but in the other 4 rooms the VGA flicks a distorted picture off and on, almost as if it's trying to connect but can't. Changing resolutions doesn't help and even running a spare loose VGA cable to the E70 doesn't help, so that almost suggests the issue is inside the E70 itself. As a side note, we do have HDMI cables attached as well and to my knowledge these have been trouble free. Any help welcomed, thanks.

I use excel and use the borders on the cells. Ok, not really what it's designed for, but it works and staff can follow it, so why make pay £££'s when you don't need to.

We are using usb cables on our boards for the interaction to our laptops, but were told to keep the serial cables in (with the connected power supplies) as the power from the usb wasn't enough to power it all, so yes to my knowledge you do need serial cables and also the power supplies.

Not going too well so far. 1st lamp that came was the wrong model. Sent that back. The replacement then came lasted a few days then blew. Sent that back. Replacement then worked. Ordered another bulb, lasted a few weeks and now going to send back again. They were cheaper than my previous supplier, but not cheaper if I have to keep sending back. Am I just unlucky? I'm thinking about reverting back to my previous supplier. Any other experiences??

I have a Apple 4S at the moment. Here are the things I dislike: The stupid mute button I keep pressing by accident Battery not lasting and unable to swap easily Unable to add a card to increase storage space Unable to set chrome as default browser without a jailbreak The casing is too slippery and often slides off surfaces like sofas Turns itself on when charging so I can't get a fast good charge when I have limited time Using stupid iTunes, especially jumping through hoops to get my ringtone on it. Cuts off about 3 or 4 calls out of 10 before I can answer it. No super easy way to turn "Location services" off and on Hard to get the sim card out without pinging it across the room and bending the metal on it Stupid default icons I can't get rid of Will be returning back to android for my next phone

I've had something similar before on a HP printer so might be worth trying this: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers on your print server. Find the printer you are talking about, expand it and then look for a key called "copy files". If you find it delete it, and then try installing your driver again and see if it goes through it one shot.

Hmmm, it was IE exceptions. Not sure how they changed, but they did.

It is giving a message of connection failed and timed out on the webpage, but I can ping the address fine and also remote onto the server using VNC so I'm a bit puzzled. I don't actively update it, so it can't be that, Anyone have any ideas?

I could run it loose as a test I guess.

I have an iMac (late 2013) running W7 and a smart e70 touchscreen both capable of 1920 x 1080 resolution. They are linked together with a thunderbolt (I think) to vga adapter, then a short vga into a interface box and finally a 10m vga cable to the touchscreen. The highest resolution I can get to work is 1600 x 900. This isn't a real problem, but I'd love to know why I can't get 1920 x 1080 if anyone knows??

Try running another OS on it like windows on a Hirons boot USB and see what happens or even try safe mode. Is it a touchscreen device? Could that be causing problems? Is there anything else plugged into any of the other ports that could be causing interference?

Yes, totally agreed, but doesn't that make you think they want you to do that? We don't have spare imac's so have to put up with missing imacs in an IT suite, which also isn't great if you have full classes. I'm just trying to find out if it is a requirement for all sellers of Apple equipment or just our particular one.

Thanks for that, so I guess you are confirming that you also have to abide by the rule of sending the whole imac back if you have a faulty mouse / keyboard under warranty?

Ok, bumping my own thread here. We've just had a Apple mouse go dead on us and have been told to send the whole iMac back to get it sorted. Does anyone else have to go through this? It's such a PITA!

Hi, I've tried looking on your site but can't find anything to help me. As the title suggests I can't seem to interact with the board, although I believe it had been working fine since we purchased it back in January. I've tried two different laptops and also bypassed the cabling and plugged 2 different USB a to b cables directly into the board from the laptop. We are running W7 32bit and active driver 5.7 which to my knowledge has been working fine. Is there any other checks I can perform? Many thanks
