Is the remote faulty or the Projector?
Zourous replied to saggu's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Was going to say the same thing, maybe someone has been tinkering. Not going to be easy to switch it back. -

I bet she meets George Michael up there and says “I knew you were waiting for me” -

I also had similar problems some years back and it was to do with the answer file and the sysprep process in W7. At the time my only fix was to forget the answer file and just click through stuff manually after imaging if you can. Some time later I read it was a sysprep bug which you can get a fix for I believe, but you might want to google it as I can’t remember the details.

Thanks but that link is dead now!

Many thanks, a W7 build was my next idea to try.

Does anyone get the "limited connectivity" frequently on this model of laptop? It seems intermittent and only a reinstall of the driver (not great) seems to solve it. Some of our 250 G4's have Broadcom wifi and others have Realtek so not sure I can even blame the wifi cards. For the record we are running W10 64bit.

Long story short though, it is the PSU's at fault. When they first show the issue you might get away with a reboot. As time goes by they won't power back on for longer and longer periods. Not a great solution but if you turn the PSU switch off at the end of the day the PC will boot the next time round, but it's either that or fork out for new PSU's which aren't cheap.

I've disabled the "Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" scheduled task on our PC's and this morning our Hall PC currently on 1709 is asking to update to 1803? I've checked and the task is disabled but the prompt is appearing asking when is a good time. Not great when exams are on :-0

4 years later there is a sequel to this story!! I better bring you up yo date first. After buying a second remote, I did indeed find the original remote. It was in attic in with the xmas decs which I found at Christmas time later on that year. On the day in question I hadn’t gone to the attic, honest. Once I found the remote we then had 2 remotes which we kept around by the sofas in the lounge. Until last Monday both remotes were present and then during the course of the day both have gone missing again!! I waited a fews days before buying a third remote which arrived yesterday. Me and wife looked in every place in the lounge and can’t find the other two anywhere!!!

Thanks I had started looking at that but I guess I would need a usb to sata lead to connect the 3.5 HDD to. I think there is a spare one on another site I can go to.

I'm not a big mac user but need to clone an existing imac to another imac that has a failed hard drive and now has a new empty hard drive. Anyone know the best way to do this and for free?

We tend to buy staff laptops with just the standard warranty and then just buy a few more than we need. This way you can save a lot more money. As they break we use the broken ones for spares to fix others. In almost 2 years we've only lost about 6 laptops out of 100+ which most were liquid spillages that wouldn't have been covered anyway. I know someone will say that wouldn't work for us because of this or that but worth thinking about if you can make it work. The last laptops we brought were all HP450 G3's at a price of £200 each.

Projector remotes going missing from room

Yes, but I'm guessing the mirror will reflect at a 90 degree angle and beam horizontally across to the projector's remote receiver meaning it would need to be the same height? -

ok, I see now. Wouldn't the holder have to be at least the same height as the projector? Must be quite frustrating and fiddly to use. It wouldn't be long before a piece of chewing gum was applied to the mirror once the students saw it in operation. -

The Remoguard wouldn't work for us as the teachers would just loose the key to that instead. -

Try this site: https://www.flex-lock.co.uk/flex-lock-sitepage_4 The sticky that attaches from the cord to remote is stronger than I thought it would be. It probably won't last if you've got destructive pupils. Ours are still good a few weeks in. -
I've just applied this GPO to one of my PC's. I can see that it has created the regkey (as above) fine, but if I manually press the "check for updates" it is still checking for them. Is this right does anyone know?

It's out in a few days time. Have been trying to get an extra usb competition pro joytstick for 2 player games but they've been sold out since Christmas.

Thanks guys for all your comments. I decided to go for a rockport boot pair from m&m direct. They were reduced down to £60 from well over £100. Trying this time to not do too cheap or too expensive. The DM’s cost me £80 for 4 months, which isn’t good enough. Lets hope I’m not back on this thread within that time.

I always seem to go through these in what seems like no time. My current pair are doc martins and have lasted just into 4 months and now giant cracks have appeared under the soles so back to puddle skipping again. Not sure if this is normal or not (not the puddle skipping bit but the wear)? I do practically live in them, but a large majority of my walking is at work. How does everyone else compare? Is there any other better brand I can go for? Used to always buy POD shoes but they faired about the same.

Anyone else have trouble logging in? About 50% of the time you can’t log in and it comes up as blocked! but at the same time my colleague can get in. Spoke to support one time and they say they resolved it, but now it is back again. Always happens when you really need to get access and I haven’t the time to ring up and explain it all again to someone.
