Nothing more upsetting than getting a wonky screen up. No doubt you're screen is level, but what about the rest of the room?
-
Once they malfunction that's it. Did this myself once with some Mac keyboards (of all types!) using keyboard cleaning fluid. My mistake was using too much fluid, but my defense was they were grubby. Had to replace the keyboards and just use them for spare keys.

Downloaded one yesterday for Kingston from their main site. Not so much a tester but does have SMART stats and other info that might be useful.

Anyone play this these days? Took it up over lockdown to keep my head focused on something and I'm still going. Edging towards level 42 now. It's quite a challenge to keep winning battles and finding ways to new ways to improve.

Yeah not really bad labelling but it does tickle me a bit. They wouldn't have discovered this without some assistance.

It's getting strange. I tried running the command as you suggested and got command not found. Upon looking around I found the DeployStudioServerEnabler file in the "sbin" folder at the same level as the "MacOS" folder. So I tried running this under the terminal and it said "Operation already in progress". This doesn't seem to change anything though.

Thanks again but the assistant didn't help point anything out. I think I might be resigned to a clean install.
-
Ran that and it seemed to be fixing lots of stuff, but unfortunately it didn't help. Is there any danger in trying to run the Deploy Studio assistant again that runs through the set-up procedure? Hoping it will correct something along the way.

Thanks for your help with this so far. The Repository is mounted as far as I can see. I 've tried turning file sharing off and on just to test. The time and date are correct. The certs I'm not sure about. I have two self signed ones that are ok and one that is pending. I really don't know what I need for this. There were cert alerts appearing, but I've cleared the log and they haven't reappeared since.

The server has Yosemite 10.10.5 and the clients are imac late 2013's. To my knowledge nothing has been updated since the last time we used it, which would have been last year some time.

It was all working the last time we used some time ago, but now the clients are hanging on the netboot just before the menu usually appears. On checking the deploy server its showing that the main deploy studio service is not running. If I look in the logs it constantly shows "DeployStudioServerEnabler : only the root user can run DeployStudioServerEnabler". This is where I get a bit stuck as I'm not a apple expert at all . I've tried opening terminal and entering sudo -s and then the command as mentioned but it says "command not found"? Any help appreciated

Yes I was upfront and admitted that I had used a knife to get the old battery out when the pulley glue underneath the battery snapped on me. This is the first battery btw not the one they’ve just done. I just asked them to investigate it whilst the phone was open in case it was something simple. Clearly it wasn’t.

I was thinking along these lines but good to get an outside perspective in case I’m getting it totally wrong.

I’ll try and keep it short as I can. I try and replace my iphone SE battery myself and make a real hash of it. The battery replacement was eventually successful but In the process I damaged the power button and now also the torch doesn’t work. Fast forward about a year and the battery needs replacing again so I take it to a phone shop and ask for a replacement battery and to see if the power button and torch is an easy fix whilst it’s open. They replace the battery and then said I must have severed the ribbon inside by mistake, which I fully accept. They give me a price to replace the ribbon plus the whole back case as it’s a pain otherwise. I decline that repair as it’s almost not worth the cost due to the age of the phone. I get home after the battery replacement only to find that now the volume buttons and the silence button above have stopped working whereas they were working before I took it in for repair. Where do I stand with this now? There fault or mine? Looking at a iphone tear down it looks like one ribbon that links all buttons at the top but I’m no expert. They said it was severed but I can’t see that it was completely if those particular buttons were working before. I haven’t contacted them again yet.

Haven't you heard? There's no fix until 2021

Liked computers and went to learn after school in a college for a couple of years. At the time (early 90's) they had such programs as Lotus 123, Wordperfect, Dbase III, Dos, Windows 3.1, VB 1 and Turbo Pascal. Anyway, found it hard to get a IT related job and ended up doing numerical input and admin. Then went I started a role as a 19 year old I wrote a program in pascal that did a good part of my job (some 60% faster). I didn't think they would take me seriously when I mentioned it to them having been there less than a month, but they did and paid me £500 for it. After that they made me their main IT person (as I knew more than their current person) and I went on from there.

It must be the fan making the noise, maybe at high speeds like you say. Can you download some software to monitor the system temperatures just to verify what is happening?

HP250 slow connecting to wifi since win 10 upgrade
Zourous replied to cgilmour's topic in Windows 10
This is the one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wi-Fi-Bluetooth-half-mini-AR9462-AR5B22/dp/B07HQSQP1J/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542035752&sr=8-3&keywords=wifi+half+mini+pcie They are only N, but it was good enough for us and we were balancing price against the age of the laptop. Apparently the supplier had thousands in stock, so hopefully this is still the case. -
HP250 slow connecting to wifi since win 10 upgrade

We had the exact same issue with the HP250’s and ralink cards after the upgrade to W10. Profiles are bigger with W10 so I think this didn’t help. We changed the cards for £10 each and they were a lot better. Let me know if you want to know the new wifi card make and I’ll check. -
We had some 2009 imacs and I've just looked at our old bootcamp driver package and looks like Nvidia as already mentioned. Let me know, if you can't lay your hands on the bootcamp drivers and I'll see if I can get them to you.

Zourous replied to Zourous's topic in Windows 10
Erm... thanks but that just disables the whole boot menu. Just looking to disable the repair tools that you can access off it.
