Are you setting the orientation in the printer defaults of the advanced tab in the printers properties?

What we've done is to enable this new policy that was sneaked in by MS at some point: Do not allow update defferral policies to cause scans against Windows Update At the same time we've made sure that the PC's are at least pointing to WSUS. I think I read somewhere that if they are not, the policy above does nothing. I'm not completely confident what I've done is correct, but so far the same PC's haven't tried to do a feature update.

I couldn't find the upgrades category on my WSUS but checking the computers registered the laptop that has tried to update to 1803 isn't registered so it doesn't seem that WSUS did it. I have the "Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations" enabled so it shouldn't get it from this route either, so I'm baffled at the moment.

In my mind I had decided to keep the school generally on the Windows 10 xx09 release each year, so this summer I wanted to prepare and test a 1809 image and then deploy it out to slowly replace the previous 1709 image. In the group policies I had set the semi-annual channel (targeted) option along with the max defer period of 365 days. Just recently I have noticed some PC's trying to update from 1709 to 1803. Yes, this makes sense as 1803 is now over a year old and it was an oversight in my thinking. Is there any way to stop this as I can't think of a way at the moment. The xx03 versions have a shorter life so it doesn't really help me to have everything updating to this especially during the course of a working day.

As per title. I'm thinking that this should work but users are telling me the messages aren't being received at the correct time. From what I've read, when Outlook on the local PC is in non-cached mode and a delayed delivery message is sent, the message goes to the exchange server which then handles the delivery at the correct date and time. Does anyone else have this working with this specific set-up as I'm having trouble googling this with any success?

Yes please, worth a look anyway

I have the same problem as everyone else and thought I'd contact Capita for the official response which is: oh dear...this really isn't good on their part

Small colour laser printer advice - please no sales people :0)
Zourous replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in Hardware
At 30k pages you'll need a new drum at around £100 mark so maybe buy 2 printers at this price, lol Saying that you would hope it would take a while for one user to get through this number. -

With brothers you usually have to pay out for new drums every so often. I'm trying to get rid of our brothers as replacement drums are not cost effective anymore after a few years of service and the price of new replacement printers. Sounds like your not a HP fan, but I would recommend the HP LaserJet M452DN. Got 9 of these and not a moment of problems. All in all a small colour laser that takes 5k colour cartridges. -
I would like to achieve the same thing as the OP but on doing some tests I realise that deleting profiles of a certain age is a bit unreliable with delprof2. I've downloaded the newest version and also tried the NTUSER.INI switch but it is still suggesting to delete profiles that shouldn't be deleted going by the date modified stamp on the username's folder.

What do you need them to know? Our users are going from W7 to W10 without me telling them anything as it’s just the same for the most part.

We’ve had both solutions and have had laptops now for 7 years. I wasn’t sure at first, but now think that you wouldn’t get the laptops back in exchange for desktops. Yes, each year there is a small number of teachers that start a back to desktop campaign, but it’s been met on deaf ears. It is more support, It is more hassle with cables and stuff, but it can work. Depends how your staff embrace it I guess.

A shot in the dark, but make sure bidirectional support is unticked in the properties. Also turn off advanced features.

Chat was still closed so got back on the blower to them. Held on for 15 minutes and then got cut off as the automated voice asked to call me back and I didn't notice. I can't guarantee I won't get collared for something even if they do call back so I just called again. This time however I got through to someone who helped. As it turns out, we're not allowed under a device license to use Lightroom CC only the classic version instead. So yes we can download it from the package creator but we can't use it! It's a shame the first guy I spoke to didn't realise this and remoted on doing all sorts to try and resolve it.
-
Went to their site yesterday to start another chat in the hope of help and it says "chat closed", oh great! Checked this morning and still the same. They are probably receiving training. What support do you know that just closes down and lists no alternative.

This is exactly my issue but with Adobe Lightroom instead. There doesn't seem to be a equivalent regkey for it.
-
Personally when I've had issues that are confusing like this I would simplify the problem as much as possible to see what outcomes you then might get. For example run a loose long VGA cable (with adapter if needed) straight to the projector.
-
A bit tricky to read, but what is main cable running from PC/MAC to projector, VGA or HDMI?

Rant Alert!! I have an Adobe issue and used the online chat to get going. Chatted for a bit, the guy remoted on and couldn’t help and just found another Adobe issue he got stuck with. Anyway a case was opened and I was able to leave a message on their portal with an expectation of a further response in 24 hours. 48 hours passed and no response. Then get automated emails from Adobe saying I haven’t responded when I have! I try responding to the alert email (which it says I can) but still no response days later. More automated emails appears telling me to respond and then the case gets closed suddenly! I get back on the chat and ask for the case to be reopened, and they say “no lets open a new one, and what is the issue” I say the issue is in the previous case, please reopen it. They ignore me and say “What is the issue again?” I said it’s in the case, please confirm you can read the case? “Only partly” they say. I then ask to chat to someone higher up. They say someone will call me in the next 24 hours. Get another automated mail with a new case opened saying I will get a call. 48 hours later, guess what, no call and the new case is closed. All this and I haven’t got anywhere yet!!

Also got to mention the famous HP4250. Probably the best mono printer ever made. We still have 11 running. -
Are the connectors all the same brand? If so buy one of a different brand and try.
