I'm just trying to move a our asp helpdesk from IIS6 on a old server to IIS10 on a new server. I'm no IIS expert by any means, but what I don't understand is why can I only access the site through "http:\\TS02\user" when I am expecting it to be set-up as "http:\\TS02\hdesktest\user"? I've attached a picture to show the way it is set-up in IIS10 and the url it defaults to. The helpdesk is functional except links pointing to the original location. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

Couldn't find http redirect to start with but soon discovered that I had to add it in. As soon as I configure anything in here I just loose any access that I had before.

I wondered if it had something to do with bindings, but when I input "hdesktest" & "STHelpdesk" as their respective hostnames, nothing worked.

Yes there is. Is it meant to be there? In iis6 on the old server, the default website exists but not on the iis10 on the new server. Yes both helpdesks are set-up as two different websites in their own right. There is no index file of any sort. I've just copied the files over from the old server where they worked before. I don't have any applications directories. Both these helpdesks are in asp if that helps?

Please excuse me as this is not my area of expertise, but I'm sure it is something easy for those more familar with it. I'm just moving our liberum helpdesks from W2003 server to W2016 server. I've managed to set-up two websites within IIS 10 which will represent our helpdesks for Network Support and the Site team as follows: hdesktest (Network Support) SThelpdesk (Site Team) I noticed that when I set-up the first one (hdesktest) when I browsed to it I only needed to type "http:/servername" and it went straight to what I expected it be "http:/servername/hdesktest/rep". At the same time I can't navigate to the same place if I type "http:/servername/hdesktest/rep" directly in. This wasn't too much a problem until I entered the second helpdesk of (STHelpdesk). I now can't get to any part of this site.

Yes, use deploy studio. Set refind manually after deployment.

We've set the firmware password on ours (to prevent them tampering) and then set a boot menu using refind and it works find on our bootcamped Imacs

Erm yeah, that is what I meant. I'm trying to compare the cost of professionally printed letterhead to just printing it on yourself with your colour laser printer printing the letter as is created (not putting it through twice). If pre-printed letterhead is obviosuly cheaper I can try and push it as way to save money. Was hoping someone here uses preprinted letterhead and knows the costs?

Nice info so far people, but still not clear what is more cost effective? Preprinted colour letterhead or printed colour letterhead? Maybe there's not much in it to worry about.

A bit of a long shot but if you are using a remote to control it are there any separate manual buttons you could also try? We had trouble with ours once. It was in the main hall and is massive. It became unstuck from the main roll and all of a suddent the whole screen peeled off slowly and landed on the floor. Eventually one of the site staff repaired it by stripping out the motor and replacing it for with a replacement part. It cost less than £100 which is less than I thought it would.

When looking at replacing a colour printer last week I asked what they printed with it and the answer was the school logo for the letterhead. A couple of jobs ago I did a lot of printing and back then it was more cost effective to use preprinted letterhead but that was some 14 years ago. Anyone know what is more cost effective these days? We do use non-genuine toner to keep costs down.

Anyone know if Liberum helpdesk will work on this 2016 server? I have my doubts as liberum is no longer supported but it would be useful to know before we go through the pain.

So these are the steps I'm doing: 1. Copied over a wim using imagex onto the source imac. Windows 10 didn't boot, but I did a repair via a usb with the W10 install files on and then it booted fine. 2. Used deploy studio to lift the whole source imac image file which includes the mac ox and windows partitions 3. Used deploy studio to deploy to the target imac and Windows 10 refuses to boot although the partition is there. A repair in this case doesn't work. Where am I going wrong here? This process used to work for Windows 7.

I think I've found out what our particular issue was after hours and hours of trial and error testing. The trouble is before we run the sysprep on a base image we have set a number W10 tweaks to get it how we want it (student lock down tweaks basically). Then after that cumulative updates would refuse to go on. From the 1607 Jan17 iso even the sysprep hangs or reboots on the "just a moment" screen from the boot-up. In our instance disabling the UAC was one of the issues and the other one was a user agreement message we added (via reg key) before the login screen.

I had similar symptoms on a Fujitsu model PC and it turned out to be the PSU. You can try a test on the 6 most troublesome PC's by turning them off with the button on the PSU or pull the power lead if it doesn't have a button. If you do this as the last action of the day, I bet the PC's will boot properly the next day assuming this is the issue. We found PC's started doing this intermittantly to begin with and then over time it gets worst to the point where it is pretty much all the time.

Yes, but I'm more of a tried and tested guy rather than the cutting edge, and I just don't trust windows 10 at the moment.

So new laptops went out to teachers last year just before the last summer with Windows 10 1511 on them. 1511 looks like it is due to expire some time in the next year. We call all the laptops in at the begining of summer for a PAT test and perform any updates we need to do. I won't see these laptops again for any reasonable amount of time in the next yeat I'm assuming I need to at least get them onto 1607? Also what is the easiest way of doing it? Is it by doing an in-place upgrade assuming you don't what to wipe out any data files in the meantime?

Hmmm, just installed this software for a teacher to test but it seems it doesn't want to load correctly unless the user has admin rights. Not impressed.

I've just sent one of these off for repair (different reason) with the 5 year warranty due to end later this year. Silly question really, but is it still under warranty?

Does anyone know what pluggin ECDL uses? I've got 3 exams starting early tomorrow and I'm told a pluggin needs updating (adobe flash maybe ??). I've got no documentation and not sure I'll get a chance to call support beforehand. Typical last minute dot com.
