  1. :what: My wife has just had a go worked part of it out in seconds, embarrassment upon embarrassment, (Hangs head in shame).
  2. I can't work out the control panel (see pic) for the life of me and I almost feel embarrassed by saying so. I can normally work things out by randomly pressing buttons, but not this time, my edugeek powers are weak. I tried looking online for a manual but can only find other people also looking for it, there doesn't seem to be one out there. The bike does work on manual mode, but annoyingly it counts up to 1 km in distance and then goes back to zero?? There are games (pre-programed variable sessions) on there that I can't access! I'm sure there is other stuff I also can't access as when I press and hold the reset button I can see all the features and digits light up for a split second. Help someone please, I'm going insane.
  3. The student at the top of the address book use to get a lot of messages intended for other people (some confidential) so we created a group called "AAA" so the messages go there instead. In fact if you have a name beginning with A, like I do, it is quite a common thing that once in a while you get someone calling you from their mobile because they've pressed something by mistake, or the funny ones where you can here people talking when they don't realise they've called you.
  4. Joking aside I've never seen a message like this with printers before. Maybe look up instructions to remove the driver reg settings etc. manually in case bits have been left behind.
  5. Sounds like it is asking for a touchscreen
  6. Assuming you're not using XP, have you looked to see if the corresponding reg keys still exist for the deleted profiles in the registry? This might prove if it is a proper profile deletion process or someone randomly messing around.
  7. Realtek audio drivers in my experience are one of the worst around and quite often break for no good reason. At this stage I would consider reinstalling windows as something has badly gone wrong.

You could try some WD40 perhaps?
  9. Sounds like the students might be getting access to the C Drive. Have you got all avenues blocked? Booting from usb disabled?, system repair disabled? Safe mode disabled from students logging in with their accounts. All these roots could enable someone to get in and delete files from the C drive.
  10. You managed to install W7 so you must have been able to see something on the screen at that point. Can you get into safe mode ok? If so, graphic drivers must be your problem.
  11. Just an update to say if you have any Benq T650's you can now get in touch with Benq support and they can send you new firmware and flash program so you can enable the freeze function. You will also need a PC with a serial port on it and a female to female serial cable. Once complete, you can freeze and unfreeze the screen by pressing the up arrow followed by a 0. We had 3 T650's and can confirm this worked on all of them although instructions can be a little tricky to follow as it looks like they are translated from Chinese. Has anyone else suceeded with any anti-glare treatment with any model of Benq? Benq claim any such product may mess with the interaction and invalidate the warranty, but if anyone else has tried it....
  12. You would need an extra bit of software I would imagine. Ab tutor can block printers amongst other things from a teachers console.
  13. Yep, I would give up on QC, first they were wheatly dyson, then QC and now something else. Our account managers (young kids who couldn't spell) seemed to change every 5 mins and they used to mess the order up quite often. We use Silicon Alley here. Do a search on them here to read about them. Basically you don't pay for the toners until you use them.
  14. It should be fine to remove the driver from the server providing there are no other printers sharing the same driver. Yes, move the PC physically, then whatever the result you've cut the problem down. If the PC works in another room you can disregard the PC being at fault and it could be a location thing (i.e. switch, cables, databox), if it doesn't it must be something on the PC.
  15. Also, if you moved one of the PC's it has a problem with to a different room, does the same problem happen?
  16. You might have already tried it, but have you deleted the actual printer off of the print server and started again? Sometimes I've found this to be the solution.
  17. I think I know the answer to this before I ask it. I have one of these that is acting weird, can't log into the network or locally, in fact can't even boot off my hirons usb into mini windows XP mode it just crashes during the process. I suspected it was memory, so managed to run memory diagnostics but it then freezes on about 29% each time. So I think, I'll just take off the back panel and reseat \ change the memory. I take off the back and just see an empty memory slot (presumably for expanded memory). I can't see any other accessible panels and I've already looked under the keyboard. This laptop has 4gb, and now someone is going to tell me it's soldered on the mainboard somehow and is inaccessible? The warranty was up last November :-p
  18. Now 11 out of 35, another one failed this morning
  19. @TechSupp was it a rev3 psu by any chance? It's a shame Fujitsu don't own up for this fault. Dell owned up about the dodgy caps on gx270 mb's in the past and replaced them free of charge up to a certain date. Every pc or laptop i've sent to fujitsu for testing comes back NFF. I've even explained to them how to reproduce the fault and they still come back with the same result. They are in denial! Doesn't make me want to buy any Fujitsu stuff in the future.
  20. That would make sense, there has been a few people that have got my back-up today already! I think I prefer the pie eating day.
  21. Contacted Fujitsu about these faulty psu's. We have now had 10 out of 35 fail in the same way in just under 3 years. To my mind this highlights there is a common issue with the psu's and that the rest will probably go the same way. I think psu's should last longer than this. I asked for a replacement psu for all the pc's that haven't already had one but they refused. Do you think this is fair under the circumstances? The warranty is up in August. Fujitsu have never acknowledged that this is a known fault, although the engineers that have come out seem to think it is.
  22. Tricky one, Have you tried to see if Microsoft has a graphics driver under the Microsoft updates? Also try the standard vga driver that windows installs when no driver is installed. This may prove whether it is a driver related problem. You could try some older flash versions if you can get your hands on them. How does it run on IE 32bit on 64bit windows? Does adding it to compatibility mode in IE help? probably not I would guess.
  23. Rather you than me, I don't mind messing with other parts in a PC, but I bet it could be quite dangerous messing with a PSU, I certainly wouldn't do it.
  24. Hi JPCoolin, We've had the exact same problem with the model E3521 which I bet uses the same PSU. It took me ages to work out it was the PSU despite having 35 of these in our school. Up to the present time we've had 10 of these fail in the same way. Luckily they are still under warranty so we've received replacements, but only until August this year.
