Cover yourself. Make sure there's a paper trail informing people what will happen if the temp goes up and how likely it is too happen.

I tend to write off projectors either when the quality in projection dips or when the bulbs become worse value than a new projector with a longer life bulb. For instance when a 1000hour bulb needs replacing at £100 and I can get a newer 3000hour projector for less than £300.

New to VMware. Are there discounts available for the exams? I've had a quick google but most of the sites advertising discounts are a little iffy looking.

AB tutor also does this, cheap enough to buy one licnese for it. Or you could use the demo for a shortwhile. Other than that you could write a script that changes the auto logon properties , writes a value then reboots.

Or purchase AB tutor. Single license for the admin. Great tool!. -
Once you've mastered MDT ( and it does take a while) then think about moving onto SCCM. They key thing is with MDT you can call the menu from inside windows to install software or you can use WDS to share the boot image. SCCM really doesn't add that much other than scheduled software deployments which tbh you can do with PSEXEC / impero or AB tutor.

I'd bet a bag of cookies that they have seen another head with one and think that all heads should have one. -

Good points above so I'll do a brief list. 1. Conflicting settings, if they work elsewhere things like proxies become an issue 2. Data protection , is it secure?, is it backed up? 3. Cost analysis, worth asking if there is a business case for it as an alternative might be better 4. Software compatibility, will it run all the reporting software and accounting software they need 5. Software costs, you may need difference licenses. 6. Hardware compatability , will it sit on your wireless, what about printing? 7. User training, does the head know how to use a mac in a mixed environment? (Ie know not to send pages files via email) Worth showing them other shiny shiny to see if they take the hint. -

Draw up a shortlist then give them the final choice. At that price something will be deemed to be "wrong". Internet user is right, they will be wanting a MacBook but think that you have superpowers and that because they are a HT they can make it so. -
Yup, Good guys and a long history of good work.

It wouldn't be unfortunate it my first name weren't Biggus. I jest, its a perfectly normal name, it's just unfortunate in that I have no connection to it

I've always had a slightly unfortunate surname inherited from my mothers first marriage, With her having now passed and my sister having married i'd like to change my name to one I have a bloodline with. Has anyone experienced changing name by deed poll? . Was it straightforward?

Having to print for people because 10 years ago our admin department didn't have a colour printer 4. external visitors ( We need sound, internets, laptop, projector, wireless clicker, microphone, flipchart, then turn up with a MacBook and no adapter) 5. Can you create an account ( for a student who has had an account for 2 years , cant be bothered to use it and has never been encouraged to by teaching staff)

Why is it blocked in the first place? . Does it present a child protection issue? Does it have productivity issues?, Does it fit in with T+L policy? -

Looking at all the bonds available I've come across the west Bromwich bs 6.15 PIBS. coupon is 6.15% but price is 28p down from launch in 2005 of 99.83. Bond doesn't appear to have a redemption date. This means the yield is around 24%!!. Can anyone see the flaw? West Bromwich Building Society (WBS) 6.15% Permanent Interest Bearing Shares Share Price | WBS

How important is it to have good equipment in the tech field...
strawberry replied to madmin's topic in General Chat
Any workplace that doesn't provide the right tools isn't going to have a good attitude to what you do. Wanting 2 screens and a decent spec pc isn't unreasonable, especially when you get excellent value out of it. In most workplaces you can get the senior folk will have their weapon of choice and use productivity as the reason in our case its not about the time it takes, its about what needs to be done. -
So, Can't box shift anymore, Don't need support staff anymore.... What will RM be selling in a year?. I'm off to cash in my 6%!.
-
Neither can I but I think we both know that senior management don't always indulge in the thinking when it comes to such matters. We have a massive amount of mailboxes that no one ever checks including.. Safeguarding,Danger,Alert,Forward planning, bullying..
