When you say takes ages to load, are you referring to the loading screen hangs and the application appear as "not responding" before the flame animation kicks and the application finally loads? We have had this an intermittent fault for a couple of months, we have reconfigured our admin.ini file, but it still keeps coming back. If we run the application as administrator it loads almost instantly! Promethean support have been no help. I'm now trying to get our maths department to switch to Classflow, Any suggestions very welcome. Steve

Thank you for the suggestions. I have got the boards working using KEYSPAN USA-19HS and USB-Serial CH340. and by reinstalling an older activ driver V5.5.37.1. Which gives you the option of USB+Serial on install. thank you

Good Afternoon, We have purchased new teachers PCs without COM ports. We have 7 first Generation Promethean Boards which we are now having issues connecting to the Activ Driver. We have tried KEYSPAN USA-19QW, KEYSPAN USA-19HS and USB-Serial CH340 "Serial to USB" connectors, which all appear to work correctly and create COM Ports appearing in the device manager. But the ActivDriver software is failing to connect to the boards, and I am seeking any advice. See Attachments. Any suggestions? Also : we appear to have some first generation boards with board to USB cables already installed? and these available to purchase, or are theses an actually different board model?

Dear All, for years we have spent thousands on different types of headphones for the school, and once again we are looking for more replacements. We have never managed to find a kid proof pair of headphones, any suggestions? We are willing to pay a extra for headphones with cables that are strong enough the stand up to being plugged in and out, wrapped up and transported multiply times a day, without detachable earphone pads that don't last a week. 3.5 Plug, No Built in Microphone, Not USB, No Noise cancelling, No Volume control, No visible left to right over the top cable, strong and tough. Ideally they would be made in horrible colours that no one would want to steal. I am asking too much? Any suggestions/links very welcome. (Yes, we have tried idea of kids of buying their own cheap headphones and that didn't work at all) Thanks

I have a version of Joomla 1.6.5 hosted on a Win 2008 Server, IIS7. I'd like to update it to 1.7 and then maybe to 2.5 but the "Extension Manager : Update" Page, never lists any updates. When I press "Find Updates" it works for a while then returns this error. Update: :Extension: Could not open http://www.jevents.net/updates/jevents-update.xml I can access http://www.jevents.net/updates/jevents-update.xml directly from a browser so I know the page is available, but why can't my Joomla Install open the page? Could it be the proxy we use for our school? Do i need to config our Joomla to use this proxy? Any suggestions welcome? Thank you
