Going to make the jump in July from a very old telephony system over to Teams using Direct Routing via a third party. Around 200 users and 60 handsets mixed estate. Only porting numbers and basically starting again which isn't as bad as it sounds. It’s taken a bit of time to get my head around how we want it setup but thus far I'm happy with what we can achieve and the integration and automation it will offer linked into Salamander and existing Teams group we have setup already as we are deeply MS integrate. Going to use a mixture of Poly SIP phones for common areas as we only need basic features there which means phone are dirt cheap and reliable. Only using full fat teams phones in exec offices. Be careful and check your full fat Teams phones will upgrade to Android 12 which for AudioCodes is this summer. This should match most existing Android Teams Room systems (we already use very happily) for further proofing. Elsewhere we are planning on using the Teams client (PC/Laptop dock) with the Yealink USB MP50 phone to give people the feel of a handset and buttons without the overhead, complexity of signing in regularly (hotdesking) and cost.

Looking at doing the same, out of interest did you make any o gui changes to the power app template? Wondering about changing the date picker so it's just an option to select which time period 1-6 for example as this will be simpler and quicker for staff.

I can only assume there are extra fees for the solution providers to have access to these meeting opportunities via the Connect @ Bett system, bit hard to monetise ad-hoc meeting on the show floor ..........

We already started using Dante as our hall doesn't have any cabling for audio so networked from day one. Not found it difficult as from a more networking background I've personally found it easier. Looking to replace our speaker setup and this is on the requirements list. Like you say the flexibility it perfect for multi use venues. Dante cards seem to be in constraint still but also found alot of second hand kit with it so lots of options. Stage box for our rack will be a requirement but again the extra cost is justified compared to routine the analogue cabling and resulting in a less flexible system.

We currently use a Soundcraft Ui16 mounted in the stage rack (good old dell server rack), it's been solid and very easy for to us and students alike. Being touch only and limited inputs (you can stack the larger Ui 24 series by the way) has its drawbacks for us now performing arts are growing and getting more professional with each show. Looking to upgrading a 'real desk' for faster operator controls when live mixing. Considering a Allen Heath SQ5 , anyone have some feedback on Allen Heath desks regarding build quality/workflow?

Oh totally and not going to take much convincing for management to see the cost saving and if you're overall getting a better user experience too. I was just wondering for the areas where this isn't possible. That why I liked the USB devices as really they are glorified headset for people that also still like buttons to push As the risk of going slightly OT who do you use for your SBC?

I've been watching this thread closely as we go live in January! We are not going to use the parent app based on our own experience in testing and the feedback from others, thankfully Edulink are making brilliant efforts in supporting increased Arbor integration so we can keep with the 'same' platform though parents must get new logins, but this seems a minor blip compared to using the native app. Not having online parents evening was a big showstopper for us.

Is everyone using Yealink, no other manufacture of handsets?

I'm testing with Yealink but considering look at other manufacturers, AudioCodes being one. Just worried about national guidance to avoid tech from certain countries later down the line, e.g. certain CCTV camera manufacturers get caught up recently. Interesting about keeping the firmware up to date, with any cyber security guidance this is a given so way of automating this would be the solution.

Interesting feedback as we are looking to move to a Teams phone system in the new year. I'm certainly coming to the thought about minimising handset wherever possible as it's just another device to manage and maintain. Do staff just have headsets, or do you use the Yealink MP50 USB phone?

You need to do some testing within your network to see what 'real world' speeds you achieve using various products and solutions be it the OneDrive client way or a drive mapping solution. Anything said here or elsewhere will not reflect what you can/could achieve as many factors can effect how the OneDrive client performs. You should also consider your internet connection and it's resiliency. Is it up to the task, do we need more bandwidth or speed. Worrying about 1gb files comes way down the list and isn't really an issue once the above is sorted. We've been running OneDrive client for a number of years very successfully, local storage space was the only thing that bit us on some older machines.

Another vote for Wave9 and certainly watch out for very long delays with Openreach at the moment, ours was 6 months for a second fibre connection.

Had Lee on-site doing our wireless survey today following our Cambium rollout. Certainly been impressed with you guys, was also nice to Lee to hear positive feedback from users. Originally a Unifi shop, not looking back!!
