  1. What version of ACTIV Driver are you using - theres a post on here that the latest versions appear to be dropping the connection to the boards. I'll see if I can find it.
  2. Theres a report for leavers out of the box. Reports > Run Report > Students > Leavers (off the top of my head !)
  3. I'm not 100% sure, but even with the 100 free accounts you may be limited with what you can do with the new IOS9 features - you may need the paid for version to enable certain restrictions. I am not a Meraki MDM customer, but i've read an article lately about it.
  4. We've had no issues with CRB and use the MIS Link which works well which means we have very little admin.
  5. Strange - we noticed this issue here since September and we had to roll back to a previous version of the driver. We had been using 5.9 without any problems previously.

Yep, we've got this issue. I'll speak to CAPITA tomorrow about getting hold of the fix.
  7. I would think they offer two different fixes, so wouldn't be included. I think you should have no issues.
  8. We've built machines these holidays are on 4.5. I've noticed some which have installed the updates as part of the build and others that haven't - everything has been built as Windows 7 Pro. It's a bit strange and not consistent.
  9. I am sure i've done this in the past but can't for the life of me remember how i've done it. I am after a report within SIMS or another method that lists all staff who teach a particular year group. So effectively I need a separate list for Year 7, 8, 9 etc. Does anybody know how this can be done?
  10. We use Airwatch. Works well for us for the last 18 months or so.
  11. We've also got our CRB cashless catering stuff all on one VM. The SIMS client is installed on this box and the relevant details entered so it can generate reports etc and update the school roll, FSM's etc as part of a scheduled task.
  12. Sorry Nick, I should have pointed out the timetable has been applied. I am guessing the cycle is right as the timetables show fine in the staff and student profile pages. I'll give it a go though. Thanks
  13. We are moving this year from a 5 lesson day to 7 lesson day. If I change the date on the student or member of staff timetable page to a date in September, it shows the correct timetable. If however, I try to view / print the timetables via Reports > Timetables > Student Timetables and change the date to September again it shows only the first 5 lessons of the day i.e. the same lesson structure as currently. Have we missed a step out in order for the 7 lessons to be reflected in these reports? Thanks Andrew

  15. Not sure if you are aware but RM will sell you a ready made package - can't remember the cost but it will save you hours of work fiddling with various things. I think it's about £300.
  16. Rip out and replacing 5 data cabinets including new fibre runs. Installation of new Meraki switches Rollout of Meraki Wireless 70 new PC's to install 5 Projector installs Numerous Avaya IP office config changes Move from ISDN to SIP Install new VMWare Host
  17. It arrived for us this morning too. The plan is to move to Summer 2015 over the weekend.
  18. No catch. I've had a free AP and a free 8 port switch from them for two different webinars. We've decided to buy both switches and AP's for the whole school - so the marketing ploy has ultimately worked well.
  19. We are a big user of http://www.classcharts.com our staff love it.
  20. We do it here with our feeder primary schools. We have setup a procurement and advice SLA in which we charge them £300. They have realised bigger savings in the kit costs then what we charge them and it's covering my time for all the discussions with suppliers and organising quotes etc. I've got a program that the schools complete before a set deadline generally mid-June for a summer holidays spend.
  21. Not free but the YouID product from Impero will do what you need. We don't use it so I can't tell you costs, how good it is etc.
  22. We've had two virtual DC's for the last 5 years or so. Both on Windows 2008 and 2012. It's an interesting debate regarding backing up - i've never really thought about it to be honest.
  23. This is what i've used before in the past. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rX1icGs4MBk97KqnSNjBrP_8ijRNvElLzi28mLOrNrw/viewform#start=openform Generally we come up with the summer works and we often try to respond to some of the feedback from staff. Once the survey has been collated, i'll come up with a document answering queries and informing staff what we have put in place to rectify any issues they may have reported. We've never really had anything negative and staff are pretty much happy with the service we provide and the kit in use. Even if one staff suggestion is acted on, it's one more member of staff happy.
  24. Our new staff joining us in September all seem to come in for a day or two between now and when we break up in 3 week time. We take their photo for their ID card and provide them with their logon details to the network, VLE and e-mail etc. A couple of days before the whole school begins, we have a new staff INSET day and I generally have a 45 minute slot. This is where I go through some of the house keeping - logging IT requests, accessing our remote desktop, use of the VLE and I also go through some of the major headlines from our e-safety and social media policies as we all know they won't read them.
  25. We donate ours to the local air ambulance too. For the amount we would make on them i'd rather give them to charity.
