It actually failed on my VM as part of the upgrade. I ran it again and it was much quicker and successful. Everything appears to be english for me.
-
Relatively straight forward. Set the update to go then close the SOLUS GUI so it has the opportunity to upgrade too. Check back in after 20 minutes or and all should be good.

Quick question @russdev, why does your support team as preference connect to customers via TeamViewer and not your IRM product? I've asked a couple of people and nobody really knows. We are looking at supporting our feeder primary schools and Teamviewer and IRM are just two of the options I am considering. Thanks

All of our staff have them and our sixth form students as they don't have a uniform.
-
Is their a demo account available - i'd be interested to see what the speed and usability is like via this platform compared to our on-premise install.
-
It's all part of the fun
-
I've installed it today, can't really say whether everything works or not until the staff start using it once we return after the easter holidays but no issues with the install via the latest SOLUS 3 release.

We too are looking at refreshing our switches this year and have looked at both options for our Edge. As we are an existing HP customer I am favouring towards the ones running the Procurve software - although I'll be watching this thread with interest.

I noticed this happening to ours since I updated them last week too. -
We are also a happy customer for 3 years or so and echo @Zourous reasons

IT Budget 2015 - What's your big spend?
Sylv3r replied to Dos_Box's topic in Budgets and Expenditure
We would be looking at our infrastructure (switches) and a Managed WIFI rollout. -
Our staff are using our Flip Cameras, we rip the video off and save onto portable HDD's. The videos never touch our network. A PE teacher is going to do the editing at home.

Veeam for our virtual stuff and BackupExec for our very few physical servers we have left.
-
Another vote for Veeam. It's been pretty much rock solid for us since we bought it in September for our VMWare setup.
-
We'vw had exactly the same issue this week and I sorted it but lowering the maximum number of current jobs too.

ClassCharts is printing grey box at the bottom of the page!
Sylv3r replied to sllorep's topic in MIS Systems
I've just tried it here and seemed to print fine in IE and Chrome. -
We are another with a virtualised box. Running 16GB, I virtualised at the same time as moving to SQL 2012. Our setup is so much quicker now then when it was on our older box. We've got 1,500 students and around 170 staff.

I was going to say, they sent the logo to us and we've got it plastered everywhere. Will be fun and games if we don't get outstanding next time.

I've been asked as part of our Teaching Schools status to go out and deliver some e-learning / IT training as part of an HLTA day in a local academy. It's only a 45 min slot, I was thinking about touching on the use of Twitter, having a play on a couple of Apps on a set of iPADs. Does anybody else have any other suggestions - I am not sure of the level of IT competence of the people attending, so I think a basic level would probably be best.
-
We are a single academy and use SIMS and Sage 200.

You may wish to use this to check the external settings are all in place too. https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com

Our SCCM Forefront has been picking up on this for for at least 6 weeks - as a post above I thought it was a false positive so just ignored it. I'm surprised it's taken that long for them to pick it up. -
Twitter, full of porn - what do you do?
Sylv3r replied to grant_girdwood's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
No access for our students aged 11 - 18, but staff have full access. I must admit i've been a twitter user for around 3 years and yes, I have come across pornographic material generally as spam, but I'm not sure how much is floating around generally.
