No Problem - What format does Xen keep its Virtual disks in? This particular unit is circa £4500 and then around $500 PM for 4TB in the cloud (£100 per extra TB). I havn't tested the export to ESXi yet but it is on my plans (I have a new ESXi box going in next week so will test then). The Formats the box can export as are VMDK and VHD so if Xen can either run with these or Convert them that would work - alternativly you could cross over a connection from Datto - Xen server direct to the VM and then PXE boot the restore enviroment to the Xen Vm. No - but for calorie counting and tracking MyFitnesspal is brillaint - I use it with my trainer and Nutrition mate and they can see everything I can eat - its pretty good and has food from most major supermarkets in there. And as good as that fasting is - TBH I doubt it is doing your body much good. I'm aiming for 2000 calories a day which most days I am not hitting (but am always full) by eating the right foods and decent portion sizes (i bought myself some cups for easy measurement).

I missed this thread last week - I have started a 4 days a week course for 8 weeks with my friends who is a PT, last week I trained 5 days (4 days weights, 1 day 20km bike, 1 rugby match), along with nutrition plan. Last week I lost 3.5KG (just under 8lbs). I'm aiming for another 6/7KG in the next 7 weeks!

The Hardware I have been trialing the Datto Siris S3000 unit which is a 3TB device, the unit is available in 500GB, 1TB, 2Tb, 3Tb, 5Tb, 10Tb, 20Tb, 40Tb. It is sitting in a 2U Supermicro chassis, storage is 5 x 1TB HDD's Raid 6, 32Gb ram and Intel Quad Xeon. The Software The I have been trialing the Full Siris software which runs on Ubuntu 10.04, utilizing Virtualbox and ShadowProtect (third party software). From unboxing, to having it running in my office and the agents installed on all the servers was roughly 30mins. Overnight the backups full backups have run and this morning the servers which are configured for hourly snapshots have worked seemlesly. All the backups have been tested through the Instant Virtualization technology along with file level restores. The Compression is aprox 1/3 - 1.2TB of data down to 875GB Below I have attached Screenshots of the major areas and I am just awaiting a USB device to do the initial sync of data to the Datto Cloud. @bossman sorry for the late reply!

create an MSI but with fields which need setting through maybe orca MSI editor? All they do is customize there own MSI file and then deploy? Either that or maybe have command line switches for deploying it setup.exe /path:\\server\database /silent that could then easily be set as a startup script?

There should be no data protection issues with Google Apps/Office 365. If anything it is probably more secure then on-site. TBH if you are not planning to use DAG to replicate the Mailbox servers I would just have 2 servers with all the roles and just split users across them both. I would then on each users machine who need to export data (Make the kids do it themselves ) to a pst file and then you can import them directly from powershell into MS Exchange 2010

maybe you could ask to see what DNS forwarders they use - then do nslookups against these? I presume your mail comes direct rather than through an external content filter?

The X10 - should do what you need without needing to use VLans - setup ETH0 as external, ETH1 as your Home Lan and ETH2 as your DMZ - control access to the DMZ from external/Internal (ETH1) - the Guest access is easily setup using the Built in wireless.

Where the domains ever in the control of the LEA (inc DNS) - could it be they still have legacy DNS records on their system?

If you want to use the server os's get yourself a technet account - free downloads for trial and home use is it not?

With the FreePBX solution it took me around a week to play with it and configure how I wanted for the school and the roll out was really simple, setup a PXE boot on the freepbx server and all the phones pxe booted to get configs - which where all done via a barcode scanner on the box and a bit of word mail merge's with a bolt on to seperate them to new files. Plugged each phone in and put on correct vlan and walked away.

Yes you could - here we just use a onenote notebook. Onenote is designed so keep it in a shared location and it syncs together - also available offline etc and syncs back. Don't any any problems with it.

I have a guy here who does this kind of thing as he sells helicopter flights (as you do). Is the content going to be changed reguarly? As all his site does it have static links to Paypal items which ask for you to pay. I'll PM you the web address. Toby

As mentioned in the other thread yealinks. Cheapest i got them was 56quid for t20 and 79 for t28p from iddris.

No problem - if i remember correctly what happened was the trixbox machine received the sip trunks then had routes setup for any extension on the nortel. Personally i found trixbox a touch strange to use and went with freepbx. The yealink t28p and t20p both have intergrated switches which also support vlan tagging for data etc. They are also very customizable and can be configured via pxe boot which is nice as it means they can be setup from the server and just plugged in.
