They've really gone all out with today's Google logo. I think I'll be watching it a few times today.

Hi All, After some playing around with PHP and Shell I've used the following method that works quite well. I thought I'd post it on here for others if they ever needed it. shell_exec('lpr -P $Printer $file'); Which basically prints $file to $printer (that is a printer installed on the server.) Dan

Hi All, Does anyone know a way to print directly to a printer using PHP? So far I've been using javascript: window.print() Which does print what I want it to but displays the print dialog box. I'd like it to go straight to either the client default printer or to a printer attached to the webserver. Thanks, Dan

Isn't it under User configuration > Windows Settings > Folder Redirection > Downloads? Then set it to \\server\share\user\downloads? Presuming you're using Group Policy to manage these things.

"With nothing but a safety harness". No, I think you'll find that's a rope wrapped around his backside. -
Might be related I don't know but whenever I've used ghost or fog to do a large multicast image It always seems to knock the network about a bit. Were you doing a large multicast to several machines?

Effervescent sh*tstain. Wonder what that would look like? -
I'm using google apps for both primary schools I'm in. More the email and to a less extent the calendar. I set up the google apps and applied for the education edition. But our LA sorted out all the MX records etc as they own those.

Do you get any kind of post? If not could it be a faulty screen? Maybe try connecting an external monitor and see if you get anything on that.

Dunno, but Mock the Week's gonna need a new theme tune.

Board not recongised by laptop
bladedanny replied to mullet_man's topic in Promethean Direct Support
Maybe try updating the firmware? Is the board showing up on the laptop and just not working with the pen, or does it not even recognised by the laptop? -
Deploy ActivInspire Resources Pack by Group Policy
bladedanny replied to FN-GM's topic in Promethean Direct Support
Ah of course, laptops would have problems with this. When deploying ActivInspire msi via group policy I used the ASTTransGen.exe to create a transform and set all the options in there. This guide is pretty useful. Article Details *-*Promethean KB -
Deploy ActivInspire Resources Pack by Group Policy
bladedanny replied to FN-GM's topic in Promethean Direct Support
I have all the resources on a shared network folder and Inspire points to that folder. So any new resources can just be added to that one folder. I know that's not what you asked but maybe a possibility? -
I bought it for exactly that, so I don't have to carry around numerous disc for various OSs. As well as been able to boot an 'disc' on netbooks that lack an optical dive. Only started to play with it this morning, is there any thing in particular you're wanting to know?

I ordered one on wednesday and got it yesterday.

Just want to say a big thanks to @CPLTD. We've just had five new classrooms built and kitted them out with Promethean IWBs, Ruckus wireless, two banks of 16 Dell laptops in LapCabby trollies. As well as the usual desktops. All of the kit was purchased from CPLtd and Chris in particular has absolutly been amazing at sourcing everything, and was also patient enough to put up with me changing my mind every other week and always trying his best (and in most cases succeeding) to price beat/match. The installation of the IWBs was also carried out and organized by CPLtd and the outcome is great, the boards went up in two and a half days and look great. So thanks again to CPLtd for making my life so much easier .

[fog] unable to join domain with new computers
bladedanny replied to browolf's topic in O/S Deployment
I've had problems in the past when setting the OU for them to go into. Leaving it blank has worked for me. May or may not affect you but is something to check. -
I recently bought a set of 30 at £1.50 each. They're not great, but at the rate our kids chew through them they're ideal as they are pretty much disposable.

[iphone] Do you use passcodes?
bladedanny replied to aerospacemango's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I've always found out that people more than likely use their birth year, which obviously due to the wide range of possible dates isn't on that list but still IMO comes under fairly stupid. -
