It'll miss the 80s aethetic, but now that the original release of GTA VC is actually further back than it's setting was from that game's release, I think it's easy to get caught in a nostalgia loop!
-
What sort of money do those tend to come in at?
-
But you’ll be expected to provide onsite support and a warranty! It’s a fine set of components in there - hell of a present!
-
Always hard to sell complete - from the parts that looks like a £1000 machine but it’s finding a buyer.

Okay, so our docks are Lenovo Hybrid USB-C ones. They’re good kit. Tested with different laptops, PCs and Macs.
-
Tried an HDMI to VGA converter from the dock? That’s what we still have in many rooms, as our docks don’t have VGA.
-
Lies. I told everyone that Flash, and Flash content, is EoL. Helps that our curriculum is changing!
-
I doubt it’ll be staggered much, if at all. The original releases of GTA V were on consoles that didn’t use PC hardware - the development differences between the platforms are now pretty small.

Our dress code is men - shirt and tie, smart shoes (not that it’s enforced) Women - clothed to some degree

IDP smart 30, with the free ImageBase it cane with. Despite its limitations I find the software okay. The printer has been a trooper. They’ve now made the ribbons EoL so I bought two, when they’re gone it’ll be sadly retired but it has some wear inside now.

That's annoying. They tend to be reliable here - when they're not, I just rebuild them again (or skip them if that doesn't do it).

23H2 - Start menu - get rid of pinned bobbins?
3s-gtech replied to gerardsweeney's topic in Windows 11
You can’t have used the RTM of Windows 10 - it made 8.1 look and feel like a cozy, familiar old jumper (we still stuck with 7!) It was broken, frankly. We delayed deploying it for two years as a result. -
I have a few old gen 3s about. I just set them up with AC2, giving them wifi settings and allowing AirPlay. Never gone beyond that, and they've been fine, but I don't try anything more complex. How are you using them for signage?

Do you block Youtube for Students?
3s-gtech replied to Driftingashore's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Blocked for pupils only here. Calls for it to be unblocked here have always tended to be pretty half-hearted, as staff can already access it. -
K120s, with an overstock for replacing picked keys and stolen spacebar stabilisers. They're great keyboards.

Tried Foxit instead? It has admx for managing with GP. I only deploy that where Chrome/Edge built-in isn’t enough. I couldn’t stand AR and ditched it years back - so much bloat just to read a file.

Curses, I think that’s a gap in my ‘old crap’ horde pile that I can’t test. I was proud of getting an ancient P4 (Northwood) to run Windows 7 with all drivers (7 was a system hog to be fair). Not tried 10 on anything older than a Core2 E6600 or T7200. I do have an Acer Ferrari running 10, that’s basically unuseable - it was never quick when new! However, my home PC which is still PhenomII / 970 / 8GB / SATA is still very fast in the OS. I would say that 15 year old machines can be fine, but 20 - no. Windows 11 will finish that one off as well.

TPMS is usually triggered by the ABS (unless you have actual pressure monitoring which isn't that common yet). So if something rubs it can set off the TPMS. Also, if something has damaged the ABS ring it can do the same. Are the wheels all the same size and width? Brake caliper not rubbing on the back of the wheel (which can happen if it's bent)?

That could be me, Word for Word. CS before HL itself, led to playing all games on PCs, led to my job, all started writing BASIC on a C64 (I once wrote a BASIC game that took two sides of a tape to load ) I got into CS map making (poorly) and built my first gaming PC for HL2. It did not disappoint.

The Valve anniversary video posted above is fascinating and well worth a watch. I celebrated the day by by rapidly smacking a crowbar on various surfaces while bunnyhopping. Then getting headshot in CS.

Oh yes, 6300m are nowhere close to the reliability of our old 5406zl2 chassis. Not even the same stadium. However, we have that many 10Gb links that our old chassis wouldn't do the job, so we demoted it to CCTV duties (for which it is absolutely perfect).
-
I think the 10Gb modules make healthy money because they allow you to keep an old switch at the core of a modern network. You may be able to do without that, if you can swap to 1Gb at the other end if your old switch dies as a temp replacement.
-
I’ve done really well on Ebay with switches. I bought two modules for our 5406zl2 on Ebay. One was faulty, but wasn’t registered with HP so I got it replaced directly under warranty. They cost 10% of their new price.
-
Buy a used one. Plus modules. Cheap. Win.

13 will have plenty of life yet. As you say, they do also put out emergency patches for older OSs sometimes.
