  1. I built another DFS share just for student evidence. It's capped at 1TB, because that's the size of the volume, but at least it's independent of other storage. You'll find you can archive last year's evidence off pretty soon after the exam window, post appeals process.
  2. Our hall has something like a 120" projection, and that's not over-generous for the space (seats 600 at a push). However, I use mid-range high lumens 1080p projectors for that job so never spend more than £1000 on them (we replaced it last year due to it failing P/FAT).
  3. DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:"\\server\share\net35\sources\sxs" That's my script, looks the same. Source okay? Worth downloading a new copy?
  4. Interesting. The data within a database is the school's, but the way that data is structured and stored is not - both of those are reasonable. I do think they have a point, but they also need to ensure that the school's data is easy to extract in a usable form (e.g. not just some CTFs and a validation error).
  5. All I have in front of me is the communication from our team - "[we've] been informed by the ICO that EduKey reported the ClassCharts incident to the ICO." Can't find the other post now. It will be worth making your own inquiries to the ICO also.
  6. See the thread about the interactive screen that fell over and hurt a child. I'm not a fan of any of our kit hanging on with a bodge! I'd get that ripped out from the root, and new put in. The only instructions you'll need are 'how to use an angle grinder'.
  7. No sorry, just the communication back from our DP team as above. I have seen on here that others have confirmed this also.
  8. We have five years of extended lifecycle for 2019, I might just snuggle my AoVPN server into 2019 permanently (it'll be retired as a service before then I expect). My NPS is still on 2019 too though, so can't report on success with that bit.
  9. Update today, our DPO team have reported. "EduKey have reported the ClassCharts incident to the ICO." This information was received from the ICO themselves, so it is at least with the right people and has been given an appropriate response.
  10. You can stop it creating local profiles (it's a tickbox in the Directory Utility where you join it to a domain). I found that they were unreliable without it ticked though. I have this issue big style with some older Mac Minis that I put SSDs in - they're on 10.13 and it just fills the disk. Seems to be a bug with that version.
  11. A breach has occurred.
  12. This is turning from a shower into a downpour.
  13. We have the same. The desk is at the front of a raised plinth, so I ran the cable in trunking along the vertical edge of the 'step' (which has an overhang so nothing to trip on). This allowed me to get from the desk to the ceiling for projectors, or the wall for a screen, without dangly bits ().
  14. We'll need to let parents know pretty soon. So, a statement today would be good! When you have vulnerable students or those with court orders etc, who knows what has been disclosed :E
  15. VSDC Free Video Editor. https://www.videosoftdev.com/ This has the ability to overlay shapes onto video based on a timeline. It's very easy to blank out sectors of the screen over periods of footage - it has been an essential tool whenever we've had to release footage.
  16. We had 'sheds'. We managed to timetable out of them one year, then rang our LEA who gratefully pounced on them to use elsewhere. One of the best things we ever did. I suspect the primary they went to has shut since (hopefully not because of unheatable portable classrooms!)
  17. Go cloud, they said. It'll be better, they said.
  18. Mine stay off the wifi. Much reduced security risk! Not even thought about MDM for them.
  19. Old cert added to cert store via GP?
  20. Got a step by step? I will have a ton of RPi 3 spare soon, despite the capability drop I fancy playing at it.
  21. /forums/behind-red-door/236165-family-boy-crushed-whiteboard-call-checks-bbc-news.html
  22. This'd be fun to know - I have a suite or two to reimage this summer and I'm not looking forward to this bit...
  23. Yes (I think it’s the same as earlier MacOS). Delete the wifi connection in the Network prefs. This will need an admin account to add back.
  24. It will probably be the route I have to take on the 150 or so PCs we’ll have left by 2025. I will try to scrap as many as possible, but we have a lot of ground to cover!
