Good morning all, I am wondering if anyone has had success with deploying Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection with SCCM? I have implemented SCCM at a school I started as Network Manager at, and the only application I am having bother with deploying is CS5.5. I know this application is old, but unfortunately its the only Adobe licence the school currently has / uses. We are due to move over to Creative Cloud at some point, but for the time been, I need to keep this application going. I have successfully customised the installation using the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Tool, but I am not sure on the parameters to execute the installation within SCCM. The school use Adobe Acrobat which is included in CS5.5, but I didn't realise this installation was separate to the actual CS5 installation. I would also like to create a separate package for this, I did attempt to do this but had issues with activation and it not activating against the CS5 serial number. If anyone can shed any light on this from previous experience, I would much appreciate it. My only other option was to create 2 images, one without CS5 and one with it, but ideally I like to keep my images clean. Best regards James

Has anyone cracked updating Adobe Acrobat (not Reader- the Professional version) across a network? We have just had a virus sneak in via a PDF exploit which our AV seems to have caught but not quickly enough to avoid an infection on the PC in question. I can deploy the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader via MSI (in fact I did this as a matter of routine at my last school) which will upgrade any version from seven or above, but this still leaves a gaping security hole in the shape of Acrobat Professional. AFAICT you have to visit each machine and update them individually, and then again each time you re-image, plus the updates are incremental so we'll have to sweep four times. I'd be grateful if anyone could contribute some suggestions before I stop gibbering.

Hi, We have a problem (so far on only one teachers laptop) where Adobe Acrobat Reader will not open. Is displays the following error: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. This happens logged on as a teacher or an administrator. I've tried a repair, that didn't work, I've also uninstalled it and re-installed it which also didn't work. Any one else come across this? Regards, Adam.

Hello, Have used the "Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition" to create a installation package of just Adobe Acrobat 32bit. It has created the package fine but doesn't istall it on any of the test machines (running W7, W8 and W8.1). I have even tried making a package with Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Acrobat. They all install apart from Acrobat. Is there a way to create a standalone MSI of Adobe Acrobat this is part of the CS6 master collection suite? Thank you, Will

Hi School has recently purchased some adobe creative cloud software, and I wanted to know what is the best way to deploy the program over multiple computers on the network. I have looked around, but haven't found anything useful yet. Also, I am having difficulty deploying adobe acrobat, is anyone else having the same issue, and is there a solution to for it? Additional: By the way we have already set up the software in the packager, we just wanted to know the best way to deploy it.

Anyone getting this/got a fix? I'd like to just get shot of it, but it would be met with stiff resistance.

Hoping someone can advise. I have created a new job application form template in Acrobat X. It is all fine, I can fill in the forms etc and save it. When I email it to my colleague to send out to applicants, she tries to edit a couple of fields (ie job title etc.) and it won't let her. She can type in it, but as soon as she selects another field, the previous one empties. Does she need to have Acrobat X as well? And if so, I imagine if we roll this out to potential applicants, they will also not be able to fill in the form? Are there anyways around this? It seems quite a useless function if no-one else can use it! Thanks

Hi Guys, Sorry if this isnt the right place to post this.On our school network recently when user logs on at start-up the c:\Programfiles\Adobe\Acrobat.com opens of its own accord! Does anybody know of a fix for this please?Need to stop it due to Kids wandering what it is and opening files..Is there a script that can be written to stop it? Cheers Really appreciate the Help!if you can..

The Problem: When installing the MUSAC Classic package or any updates the installer requires the presence of Adobe Acrobat Reader whether you have a better, more secure PDF viewer installed or not. After my request to have this issue sorted was flat out ignored by MUSAC I devised a fix by monitoring their impetuous installer with Process Monitor. I was then able to track down the criteria it used to determine if Acrobat was installed and replicate it in a couple of registry keys. The Fix: Save the following text in notepad as a "whatever.reg" file and merge it (run it) on the machine you will be doing the upgrade from: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B801CA65-A1FC-11D0-85AD-444553540000}] @="Adobe Acrobat Document" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B801CA65-A1FC-11D0-85AD-444553540000}\LocalServer32] @=hex(2):25,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,69,00,72,00,25,00,5c,00,6e,00,6f,00,74,\ 00,65,00,70,00,61,00,64,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,00,00 The Explaination: This places a GUID in the registry that the installer looks for to find the path to the Acrobat Reader executable. I have replaced this path with a self expanding path of "%windir%\notepad.exe" which should point to a valid executable on almost any version of Windows. It does need to point to a valid executable as the installer does verify that it is there. The Rant: Checking for a specific bloated security nightmare of an application is plainly not a smart way to write an installer. It should look for an assosiation to the .pdf filetype if they insist on requireing a PDF viewer. I sincerly hope that they do see fit to resolve this problem in the future however given their complete lack of response to my original queries I doubt that they will.
