Need BGInfo to run at computer startup
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Windows Server 2012
Is exactly what I'm thinking @Bezwick. I'm trying out a loopback policy now that I have running for my screensavers. I'll post back the results. -

Need BGInfo to run at computer startup

CALL isn't neccessary yes. I dont want it running per user though. I want it running per machine. -
Hi all, I'm deploying a piece of software that requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Trying to find a way to deploy it via GPO but can't download or extract the .msi to do it. If I unzip the .exe all I get are 30 numbered files - u0, u1, u2, u3 etc, no msi. Plenty of methods I've found on Google but non of them work with the latest version. Any suggestions ??? Cheers in advance

Hey all, I'm trying to get BGInfo to run at Computer startup, running from a network share, deployed via GPO. I only want it running on a certain group of machines - hence Computer Startup. Can't seem to get it running. Any suggestions to where I'm going wrong. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BGInfo.bat CALL “\\sv-01\networkapps$\BGInfo\BGInfo.exe” “\\sv-01\networkapps$\BGInfo\HostNameOnly.bgi” /timer:0 /nolicprompt" --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Works when I run it from my desktop but not on startup. Only other way I can think of getting it running is by using loopback on the GPO but thats a bit of a faff. It must be something to do with setting the wallpaper for the user. Cheers in advance

Installing Airserver via GPO - Can't get Bonjour msi working
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Enterprise Software
OK Solved... This works well.... Bonjour.msi In Microsoft Orca, open the Bonjour.msi file, Go to View -> Summary Information and remove all languages except for 1033. Click OK and then save over the original. Go to Transform -> New Transform, and then make the following modifications: - Property -> IAcceptLicense: Set Value to Yes. - LaunchCondition -> NOT BNEWERPRODUCTISINSTALLED: Drop this row. - Shortcut -> Drop all rows. Generate the transform (.mst file), Transform -> Generate Transform, and save. Add to .msi. Thanks for the comments all -
Installing Airserver via GPO - Can't get Bonjour msi working
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Enterprise Software
I tried that and it does install but AirServer reports that Bonjour isn't installed - even though it is. I did the accept license etc with an .mst transform. Tried Bonjour.msi and Bonjour64.msi -
Hey all, Just testing installing Airserver via GPO. It requires Apple Bonjour Print Services (or iTunes) installed also. I can't get my Bonjour msi working. Has anyone created an .msi of Bonjour Print Services successfully that will work with AirServer?? I really don't want to install iTunes on my client PC's. Cheers in advance

Add on the support, 2 Licences, cloud backup - getting on for £600. Suppose it's not bad. In fact compare that to Acronis and it is cheap. You're right @localzuk I'm sitting here looking at Acronis trying to check it's archive for the last hour. I only want 1 folder restored
-
In fact... cloud backup is a factor too. BackupAssist looks ok. Bit pricey for what it is though.

Physical. Got Veeam for the VM's

No, its all going on to NAS

Hi all, My Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 is getting too long in the tooth. I'm doing a restore right now and its taking forever due to the archive size. I need incremental backups daily and am backing up at least 2TB of data. Compression is fairly important. Restore speed is a must. What backup software are you guys using? ... Need some suggestions. Cheers in advance

Hi all, I'm trying to get Airplay working on some Ipads (IOS 8 & 9) using AirServer. The Ipads are Meraki managed. They pick up AirServer on the PC fine but will not connect. If I remove the Meraki profile on the 'pad.... Guess what.... It works. I have no Airplay settings defined in Meraki and very few restrictions. Anyone ever come across this ?? Cheers in advance

Or 'Cack you have to deal with that other people want until they get one... then they don't use them' - - - Updated - - - Or 'Here's my screen... please smash it'
-
Meraki works pretty great for us. 100+ 'pads. I'd say you really do want an Apple ID for each one. Much much easier to manage, although a pain to set up in bulk. I put up a thread on here a while back called 'Ipad woes'. Have a look at that... loads of helpful posts on there
