I use Groupcall Messenger because it syncs with Sims.net. Its quite good.... and web based. Not too pricey either -

Intermittent connection on Ruckus access point
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Wireless Networks
EDIT: While using an analyser app it looks like the AP is hopping from channel to channel. That's where the disconnect occurs. Funnily enough an Ipad disconnects but my old android phone stays connected. Maybe my phone is 2.4ghz only and the dropout is on the 5ghz channel. -
Intermittent connection on Ruckus access point
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Wireless Networks
It's in an area with only a few clients so it's not load. Not really a pattern, just sporadic connects and disconnects. I'd rather try and troubleshoot it where it is because it's in isolation from the other AP's -
Hi all, Got a building with one Ruckus ZF7372 access point. I'm getting intermittent connection to it. i.e. the signal keeps dropping on connected devices. All the status lights look good. Its had a reboot. I can access it over the network. Log: The rest of the log shows a load of 'Joins', 'Leaves' by clients. It was fine until we came back after Xmas. I know we had a few power cuts during that time that may have damaged it... but there's nothing I can find in the logs. Any idea's whats going on anyone ?? Cheers in advance

APC have their own proprietary cables though. Not standard serials. E.g. the Comms socket in the pic isn't RJ45, its RJ50 - with 10 pins instead of 8. The serial is non standard too.

I've done that m8, cant get a peep out of it. Its the UPS itself that needs resetting, not the NIC card. It's locked me out of the NIC
-
If you mean the network is a separate module then yes
-
Yes please. Big cheers Is it an APC branded one and 9 pin. There are some with less pins.
-
I know about the cable well enough... £35 !!!! Just need to know if the USB one will do it

These are lasers

The ones I'm referring to are Epsons lol. There's some good HP ones

Big thing is to check the cost of the consumables before you buy. You might get stung big time when it comes to refill time. I've got a couple that need... 4 toners, 4 photoconductors, a waste toner bottle, a fuser.... the list is endless. Cheaper to buy a new printer when the big bits go.

I'd be tempted to go the hybrid route... or am I just being old fashioned. Hhmmmm

All Staff SLT Team Leadership team Teachers only Teachers and TA's TA's Admin Team Site Team Finance Team IT Team Lower School Upper School I find most people just send out things using the All Staff group though. Or if you're using DirSync it will create groups based on your AD structure.

Hi all, I need to do a reset on an APC Smart-UPS 2200VA 2U. Networking is borked and I need to reset and reconfigure the UPS via telnet or such. Powerchute isn't letting me do it. I haven't got the original serial cable (god knows where it is). The rear of the UPS has an RJ50 USB socket and a serial port. Will either cable let me telnet in or do I need the serial like what came with it? I'd rather the USB but will it work ? P/N: AP9827 Cheers in advance

We get that. Its a major pain in the butt. My UPS's handle it ok most of the time though.

I'd say you'd be better off with a small PA system. Mixer 500W Power Amp PA Speakers Something like this would do it. Maybe up the power though. SubZero 150W PA System Bundle with Stands and Mics at Gear4music.com Or get in touch with your local music shop.

[ipad] Enrol existing Meraki Ipads into DEP ?
mikkydoos replied to mikkydoos's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Cheers bknaggs. Erm.. I think I'll pass on that.... Especially after updating my only Mac to Capitan and its wiped out all my printers & settings :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: -
Hi all, Hopefully someone has tried this... before I press 'OK'..... I have a stack of Ipads that have.. a) Unique apple ID's b) Are enrolled in Meraki Systems Manager c) Initially configured with Apple Configurator I've got more 'pads coming soon that will be configured using DEP. If I re-enroll my existing Ipads with DEP... a) Are they going to reset and reinstall all the apps, profiles etc b) Require the Apple ID inputting again c) Is there any advantage regarding managing them? d) Should I bother? Cheers in advance
