Hi all, The Windows 10 upgrade nagware has appeared in my system tray I've uninstalled update kb2952664 and declined it on my WSUS server. Still there !! Any ideas how to remove it with either WSUS or another method. All Win7 Pro x64 clients on a domain getting updates via WSUS. Cheers in advance.

Hi all, Got a Windows 10 N ISO that I'm fixing up someones laptop with. I cant get the DVD to boot. ISO is from MS and has bootmgr on it. Any idea's? EDIT: BTW its a legacy BIOS not UFI HP Pavillion DV6 Cheers in advance

You can't go wrong with a NUC. Theyre very quick. Only downside is they fit in your pocket !! If you know what I mean.

Hi all, Got a fairly insignificant issue that drives me mad. Scenario: Dual monitors on a GeForce card Re-Directed Desktop Roaming profile I disconnect my PC from the network by pulling the plug - or this morning updating a driver... When it reconnects, my desktop icons all pile onto the main monitor and I lose my incredibly organised icon layout. Anyone know of a way to save the state of the icon positions? Cheers in advance

It is actually the scaling. TV screen ration is 16:10 rather than monitors being 16:9. Adjust the aspect/ratio settings on your TV.

This person receives pdf's from an agency that (I presume) have been created with Acrobat and, like Office, has built in password protection. They're looking to protect scanned pdf's and other image files. Not sure they can cope with more than three mouse clicks (sigh)... and the rest of the staff may have to do it.

Hi all, Anyone using software to password protect documents? Mainly for sending confidential data via email. We have mail encryption thanks to @bheadon 's superb post but would like password protection too on documents/files. Office documents are fine, obviously you can password them from within e.g. Word.... I need these for PDF's, jpg's etc. Usually I password a .rar or .zip - not infallible. Need something a bit more robust (did I mean easy to do?) Free / Open Source is better Cheers in advance

They're probably sitting there looking for the roaming profile. Like @sparkeh says, enable the Verbose Messages GPO on their OU (Computer settings) to see. Or they might be loading up a huge local profile. Try deleting all the local profiles and do this ... How to reset a Roaming Profile in Windows 7 Offline files caches network files locally and has to synchronise. I'd advise that you turn it off if you don't need it.
