Yeah, I couldn't find anything enteprise based unfortunately. The sort of thing UniFi might conjure up one day though! Our testing one is fine - after researching the specs found that the current FireTV Stick Lite is more than man enough, and if it'll do Trilby it'll certainly do Xibo and the likes too. I originally tested with one of my fire TV sticks from home, but it couldn't cope - it was one of the originals from around 2013 though

Aye, one of the stumbling blocks for me was getting a restart scheduled. In Mosyle, Google Manager etc this is easy enough but in case they need physically turning on, without WoL we're at a bit of a loss. Got a TP110 on order to trial - it might be we have a workable mix of Crapple TVs and Firesticks with schedules set up. I did think about using many of the Chromebooks we have with broken screens, but typically they don't have HDMI out!

Yeah, unfortunately the signage solution isn't up for discussion - I'm happy with Trilby as it means I can stay entirely hands off It's more the hardware. I'm loathed to go down the route of PC's/laptops as it means securely mounting them somewhere, and behind the screens isn't an option. The ATVs are generally thrown on top of the TV or in the ceiling tiles, which H&S aren't happy about. The Pi's aren't a bad shout though as they can definitely be powered by 500ma (the older ones at least). Still interested if anyone is using any smart plugs for timing though. Worst case I can just add a couple of hours either side to discount DST, the screens are already on a schedule.

We're struggling with our digital signage (Trilby TV) - the software works well, but whatever player we use just falls over after a day or two. I'd like to keep things a) simple and b) cheap. Previously, and apparently on Trilby's recommendation the school bought a batch of Apple TVs. Not bad for home, awful for this scenario. Some of them are manageable via MDM (the few we have with ethernet ports anyway), the others were E-Waste the moment they came out of their box (the wifi models). Tested some E-Waste laptops (found a use for the DfE Whinerbooks!) - again work, would be managable over Impero etc, but a bit bulky to hide. I'd prefer to go down the route of something that is smaller, such as FireTV sticks. Bought one for testing, works well - falls over after a couple of days. Modern ones can't be powered by the TV, not enough current. Simplest solution appears to be plug in timers. Digital ones are all well and good but anything that can handle DST is stupidly expensive. "Smart" switches however might be workable, but I don't have experience of this in a school/business environment. Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations please?

Can they be reliably filtered, and the users identified in case of a safeguarding issue? That'll be a big one to make them think - on the assumption the answer is no, then it goes against KCSIE and they are putting students at risk. They've made a cock up and rather than their hands up and saying so, they're trying to plaster over the cracks until someone else takes responsibility.

Is it still actually working? From memory, that's underpower condition and generally still works, but shows the PoE injector or switch isn't providing enough juice or the cable is bad.

Just double check on that requirement. It's *extremely* unlikely they will all need to dial out at once. We can get by with 4 concurrent calls, with 60 handsets on site. We have 8, but haven't gone above 4. And of course that does not include internal calls, only external.

3CX I think is a no-brainer. Had double success with the company Tri-Lan, both hosted and for on-site. Excellent support & reliability, all with Yealink handsets.

Might be a daft question, but I'd rather not waste money trying my luck! Promethean pens for activpanels - does it matter which we buy? Some appear to named or sold specifically for models like the Platinum or Titanium, V7, V8, V9 etc but I can't imagine there would/should be a difference. Can anyone confirm please? In laymans terms, they're unaware of the subnet. My 7 layers memory is a bit Uncle Albert, but from I recall it's not transmitted as part of the packets (please correct me if wrong!) so as long as the receiving system gets the traffic on what it perceives as the right subnet it will reply (i.e. only the traffic marked for that first /24 and not the second /24).

In which case, please don't take it to heart - it's likely the Bromcom case study which is what made your post sound overly familiar. People will often have their concerns and own opinions over how or why someone would swap between providers that many times in a short space, but without being in your situation it's all conjecture. And yes, that includes me as I would have my own concerns about the process. The big BUT here, is your own experience with the transition to Bromcom regardless of what it was from, and that is useful information to others. Personally, as I've made clear before, Bromcom clearly has ongoing performance issues which appear to be improving, and a questionable ethic as a company but the product appears to be solid. Compared to SIMS, it's frankly godlike.

Yeah, likewise. Set the autorecovery location back to the default appdata, and put in an update for Office 365. Also confirmed it doesn't happen with Word or Excel. Setting it to the home folder gave us exactly the same symptoms as you - Google Drive was then safe, but the home drive lost files but not folders. I'll move to a subfolder in summer A very oddly specific bug this one!
