Hi,

Just joined today. I'm the Data Manager at Towers School & Sixth Form Centre in Ashford, Kent. I've worked at the school for 20 years. I started as an admin assistant then I was the exams officer then data admin and now the data manager. Love what I do, and that there is always something new to learn! It's not all smooth sailing though, but then I guess it would be boring if it was!

Good morning @MoorParkHR, welcome to Edugeek, I can only see that you have posted one post so far on Edugeek so it looks like there isn't an job posted on here at the moment. If you go to Educational IT Jobs then click on Post New Thread it should be added into the right place. :)

Been working in higher ed for almost 15 years now, worked my way up from a computer lab attendant through our deskside team into system administration and now managing that same team. Plus I oversee deskside purchasing for IT for our campus

Hi all - first day working in a school for me today.

 

I've been a SysAdmin (under its various job titles) for 15 years, just joined a school in Southampton as the IT Manager. Was pointed in the direction of this forum by someone on Reddit, looks like it'll be super useful.

You’ll find education operates slightly differently to business and it can take some getting used to.

Many thanks, I've been the IT link Governor to my local Primary school for 3 years now, so I've had a bit of an insight into how schools work compared to businesses.

 

The school I'm working at is under a different Council though, and being a Secondary, the IT is quite different!

I was wondering if you'd taken over from someone I know who recently decided to move closer to Aged Ps from Southampton, but he was in a Primary. I did think "IT Manager" would have been a fancy name for his post.

Not really new to the forum but I'm certainly going to introduce myself for all you lovelies that don't know me yet.

 

I'm the Sock Queen at VeryPC and spend most of my day painting-by-numbers. I'll be on the forum to bring you all the socky news and updates alongside the general chit chat.

I left bett with enough of your socks to wear a pair each day for a week. They're all wearing out now though and I'm rather gutted there no bett for me to stock up on another half dozen pairs!

Despite the sad news of no Bett next year, I can 1000% promise we'll be replenishing everyone's sock draw in the new year and that's all I can say for now! :tape2:
