Just hope they get some real justice served to them.

Agreed. We don't know all the facts, of course, but stealing a 42" TV seems an odd way of commemorating a dead man.

 

Routine Blackberry interception has got to be high on the list of whatever new laws will slip in when this dies down...

One thing that will come from this is that there is a massive amount of photographic evidence of the crimes. Hours of CCTV footage, journalist photos, mobile photos etc...

 

There'll be a lot of arrests from this. I'm just hoping the courts don't do their usual wishy-washy 'community order' or 50% off for good behaviour nonsense with their sentencing.

Yeah because the only options are killing people or praying.

 

these are scumbags who will probably cry police brutality if the police tried to stop them, make sure it is filmed on a phone and then riot somewhere else because the police are beating innoncent people.

parts of london that held up to aerial bombing from another country during a world war are being razed to the ground by mindless thugs. do you really think 6 months community service and a year in prison will change them?

Agreed, the trouble is unless they build new prisons it's not likely.

On the Blackberry interception issue - was reading about this earlier. not that easy - Blackberry's business model is built on a secure communication service, they have been in dispute with the Indian authorities who threatened to ban Blackberry outright unless they got access to its secure messaging feed. I believe this has now been resolved but the Indian authorities dont have access to the live feed only to a historical feed.

The whole thing makes me massively angry. I've seen quite a bit of the news and stuff on the Internet. I don't think we will know what happend to mark duggan until the results of the IPPC investigation is released. And even then some people will believe it's a police cover up. Everything else is just speculation.

Other things that made ms angry were:

 

Someone on the news saying the police look down on you and stop and search you for no reason. Because rioting/looting will improve relations... Or you could take the moral high ground be helpful get it over with as quickly as possible and be on your way.

 

The reverend on the news on Sunday who said that he was with the peaceful protest for five hours and the police weren't giving them answers. Well the investigation takes time... Do you want them to do it properly?

 

Lastly the Buffoon who commented on a news story on some website who said that "when it happened in middle east contries we called them noble freedom fighters, here we call them thugs and vandals". Missing all the points I think.

 

I half joked with my brother that we need to arm the police with tranquilliser guns (or release tribes of amazon pigmies) either that or fill a warehouse with trainers and tracksuits and when looters go in the metal bars on the doors come down mousetrap style.

 

In short there is no excuse. Mindless behaviour from idiots who only think of themselves. I whist they were going to get harsher punishment than I fear they will.

I think the Army have enough to do already and why should they have to sort out these types? BTW you can't shout at them anymore.. it is in breach of their human rights....
