What is the general size of your IT Department

Can anyone let me know the number of IT Support staff you have compared to number of servers/clients/hours of work etc... Please

600ish clients, full in house developed network with about 10 servers and all the usual systems.

 

2 of us all year round to support it all. It's hard work, but managable because we're well organised.

I'm Full time, support two primary schools. One school is one DC, a few web servers and ~100 clients, the other school is two DCs, SIMS server, a few webservers and ~100 clients.

Full time, supporting 8 primaries...

 

Generally 1DC, Suite of 20 PC's, laptop trolley (30ish), staff laptops and a few admin PC's

1 FT Network Manager

1 PT helpdesk administrator

2 PT technicians

 

1600 students

200 staff

 

approx 15 servers

500ish workstations

150ish laptops

Split site school, 1400 clients (400 of which are laptops), 17 servers. 2000 students 400 staff.

 

IT Manager (non technical) and 4 technicians based across the two sites.

Desktop PCs: 200

Staff Laptops: 90

Pupils: 850

Staff: 80

Hours: 8-4

Just me:

 

140 PC's (100 Laptops)

8 Virtual Servers

2 Host Servers, 1 (old) additional server for sending backups to.

30 Whiteboards

180 Students, 90 Staff

12 servers

1700 students

200 staff

800 - 900 clients (some of which are laptops)

1 network manager - full time

2 network technicians - full time

8 physical servers - 5 of them are VM ESXi hosts - around 25-30 VMs in total

1200 students yr7 - yr13

150-200 staff

near 600 PCs

~200 laptops

Projector + IWB in about 95% of classrooms

 

1 Network manager

1 Senior technician

1 Junior technician

 

Could do with another junior technician but the chances of getting one are on par with the chances of finding a winning lottery ticket in your coat pocket that you didn't even purchase.

3 Host Servers (running about 15 VMs between them)

Just under 300 workstations

About 35 data projectors & soon to be 35 IWBs

A dozen or so laptops

10 Laptops for Students (pilot group)

2 Full time Staff (me) and my Technician

Do little bits of support and advice for Feeder Primarys as they need / want it, we also like many others look after anything with a plug on the end of it, including website, telephones etc... We also do all our own cabling, joinery needs etc
