For anyone who may not have seen this. Closing date is 9am, Monday 20th January 2025. -
As part of our growth plan at Mater Ecclesiae (Preston), we are now looking to appoint our first Senior Trust IT Technician. You will support our Schools, wider Trust, and external partners with a safe and effective IT environment, which is crucial to our ability to deliver the Bishop’s vision. As the founding Senior Trust IT Technician, you will work with the Trust IT Business Partner (Myself) and the central team to provide day to day operational support. This is an interesting role where you will work in schools across Preston, and will also have the opportunity to get involved in Trust wide initiatives as we are just beginning our journey in implementing our new IT strategy. You will have the opportunity to be involved in Trust-wide projects, as we embark on our journey to streamline our infrastructure and migrate all services and data to the cloud. With exposure to a range of technologies, this is a broad role with opportunities to contribute to the development of our IT platforms. You will enjoy providing an essential service that makes a key contribution to our ability to provide a secure IT learning environment, and building relationships within our close knit community. You will be resilient, and as enthusiastic as we are about the future of our Trust, appreciate the privilege of making a key contribution to setting the scene for the future success of our Trust, and be able to see the bigger picture. If you wish to have an informal conversation please message or reach out via email. All applications are to be submitted via TES - Senior Trust IT Technician at Mater Ecclesiae Catholic MAT, Lancashire - Tes Jobs Closing Date: 9am, Monday 20th January 2025

I wonder if I could take a few minutes of your time if you are based in the northwest? I am currently completing a degree in Business and Leadership, as part of my degree I am required to undertake some work based research, it would be much appreciated if you could complete the survey found here URL Removed for now.(it is relevant to all staff in schools and colleges) The survey is looking at well-being and technology during the pandemic, hopefully it wont take too much of your time. If you could complete it as soon as possible but by Monday the 28th June that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Luke

Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has set up a teams meeting with a phone number where people can just phone into the meeting so they have audio only. We are coming a cross a few cases where our parents don't have the technology to be able to join a teams meeting or frightened of technology this is affecting our vulnerable families where multiple agencies are involved such as healthcare professionals, social workers, school staff etc. If anyone has managed to set this up i would be great full of some points, I realise I have to licence certain aspects of 365 to acheive this but unsure of everything that is required. Thanks in advance

Never found a solution but found a work around. Open DC go to preferences -> Security (Enhanced) and untick "run in AppContainer" then restart DC.

I have used these in the past https://www.ontrack.com/uk/ Whilst they didnt get any data back they gave me a report of what the issue was and confirmed that it was beyond recovery. They do the assessment free of Charge and if they can recover data they then offer to recover it at a fixed fee. I was trying to recover data from a Micro SD Card.

No issues with connecting to printer, prints fine from other applications. No print management in place.

Hello, I have just started having users report that they have trouble with PDFs. When they are printing it will take ages to flatten a document 5mins for a 1 or 2 page document (not complex). Also when printing multiple copies it take sages to adjust any of the printing settings. I have printed a blank word document to PDF and this still has the same issue. We are running the latest version of DC i have tried an uninstall and reinstall. Clients experience same issues at different sites with different printers installed. All other printing form other applications is fine. When the pdf is opened with chrome the document works fine and prints fine too. Anyone any advice or is experiencing this?
