We have considered Aidos Protects – Protecting schools and students from deepfake exploitation. While it offers some mitigation, on the flip side, doing this type of thing can remove the personal / individual recognition of pupils achievements and celebrations we post on X fairly regularly.

Blocking Co Pilot for Students under 13
Max_Power replied to loxford01's topic in AI in Education & Enterprise
We found the way to do it was to allow access for students old enough rather than block for those not old enough. In Entra we use "Age Group" and "Legal age group classification" properties under 'Parental controls' and set to NotAdult - which equals 13-18 years old. We set this for pupils in year 9 and above which gives them access to Copilot. For all other year groups we leave this unconfigured and therefore it doesn't provide access to Copilot and their accounts continue to work as normal for everything else. -
+1 for Welcome to Signable | UK Based Electronic Signature Provider No complaints and the pricing was really competitive.

We're going through some muddy waters like this at the moment, and trying to understand it all. We have a licence for 10 years and they expire in 2030, but the end of life date is this summer for some kit, and next summer for the rest. Selling a product with a 10 year licence and then the equipment only being valid for 5 -6 years is quite underhand. It is simply not feasible at this point in time to replace an entire wireless infrastructure. No "official" word from Meraki if the AP's will continue to work, but without warranty or firmware updates. Even if they do, it puts us in a position where we have equipment that wont receive any kind of updates. Evaluating other products now, and posing questions to them which could avoid this type of thing in future.

Does anyone use a good filtering, monitoring and alerting system that aligns with KCSIE on Qualcomm Snapdragon devices? Do you have hands on experience and can you recommend it? Our current provider doesn't support the functionality, so we are considering alternatives. Given the differences in price between Qualcomm and Intel based devices and a large turnover of devices each year in our 1:1 scheme the cost saving potential is significant. Thanks

Whatsapp keeps being suspended on school owned device
Max_Power replied to EssentialRug's topic in Cloud Services
I've seen this in the past and in that instance related to the volume of messages being sent over a brief period of time and the fact the recipients didn't have the sender as a saved contact so the sender was perceived to be a SPAM account. -
+1 for Lightspeed We have been using the filter, alert and classroom management products for over 12 months now. Big improvement on our previous filtering and alerting product. Filtering product works well, and the reporting is good while being simplistic to use. Support when needed has always been very good, and they're always quick to respond. Alerting product works well after some tweaking to get the right level to suit your needs, and the integration with 365 so it scans composed emails or file contents as well as the usual internet traffic is very good. We partner that with the Human Review offering. Classroom Management, staff like it as its not got lots of bloated functionality - staff want to be able to see what students are doing, lock screens and push out the occasional URL so it fits the requirements fine. Uses OneRoster to sync classes.

Had same issue; IOS 18.1.1 Outlook App 4.2445.2 Locked up, not responsive. Removing the app completely and starting a fresh was the only way to sort it.

Currently utilising Microsoft Surfaces in a 1:1 environment. We are looking at other potential manufacturers as we approach a refresh in summer 2025 and wondered if anyone has moved away from Surfaces to something else, or indeed moved from something else to Surfaces and can share experience or reasonings?

Collect details for a trip electronically?
Max_Power replied to Max_Power's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Thanks will have a look at that. Didn't think forms allowed you to upload a file with the completed form? **edit - sadly it still isn't possible. File upload is only available when “Only people in my organization can respond” or “Specific people in my organization can respond” is the selected setting. Parent Portal doesn't have upload functionality. Looking at Request a file on SharePoint at the moment instead. Thank you. -
Just wondering if anyone could share how they currently process the request for information relating to Trips - such as passport details? Currently were a bit old school and ask the for things like a passport to be brought in so we can copy in order to process flight check ins etc - Just wondering if anyone uses an electronic method to capture this data as an when required all while abiding by GDPR rules and regs. Thanks in advance
