Software that teacher can use to temporarily lock classes PC's ?

Hello,

Working at a school that had an RM network which I've now removed (good riddence!). The only thing they miss is some software called RM Tutor which enabled all the ict suite pc's to be locked from a central pc (the teachers) while the teacher talked, and then unlocked when desired.

Does anyone know of any software that could do this? As always, the free'er, the better!

youtube comparison of them

I'm not convinced at all about the integrity of those tests on youtube. Video plays alright here on ABTutor, a lot of this is configurable within each app. Could the guy of not allocated more resources to Impero or set the refresh rates different on each program. I'm not biased about any of them but I know one thing Impero downed my whole network when I pushed it out to clients, something to do with broadcast and my switches, did not go into why and how as it was just a trial.

Price wise ABTutor beats them all, apart from the free ones that is.

Also the guy kept on going on about how you have to select the network card and auto connect to PC's, this can all be done via the settings in AB.

+1 for AB Tutor Control, we have 11 licenses from them and I manage the software. Its simple to use and the teachers at our place love it.

That video on Youtube shows video performance on Windows 7 - AB Tutor is currently very poor on 7, even mouse movement is slow and choppy for me, where it's perfectly smooth on XP. Hopefully this will improve in time. Not fair to say you have to manually connect in AB - that's a tickbox in the options.
